For a more hidden set up, it would be nice if you could put a motorised screen inside it.
how did you mount the screen before knowing your projector height? I get there are adjustable feet on the projector but it's a very small window of error.
Will be interested to see what you end up with for center channel placement. I have a similar UST (LG HU915qb) and have the center channel speaker (Klipsch RC-64 III) below the projector in a custom stand. It sounds great but ideally I would prefer not to have such a low center channel speaker placement. I don't think there are acoustically transparent UST screens due to their special construction.
100%. Unfortunately we do not have any AT/UST screens on the market and I do not believe we will but if we could it would be a game changer!
The plan is to have the focal 302s flanking the screen LCR on wall. It won’t affect the projector because of how shallow it is. Unfortunately that wouldn’t work with your RC-64. That’s a great speaker though!
Can the top square cut be smaller so only the projector light goes through. It would look nicer without seeing the whole projector.
Not on the salamander designs cabinets. They are all cut to the size of the projector based on model. The Aegis and awol make some motorized cabinets that recess the projector back inside when not using it. We have all the best cabinets available and ship nationwide! At 2:52 you mentioned to use in wall LCR behind the screen. Which screen is acoustic transparent for use with UST or standard throw?
If you watch it back the reference is to using it below the screen between the screen and cabinet. As of right now we do not have any UST/AT screens on the market. I can’t wait for the day we do! UST/ALR/AT!?! That would be a game changer!

Nice cabinet, easy to install. However, the details of the cabinet do not seem to be good, and it is not a smart cabinet suitable for laser TV expansion.

Sorry about that. Our editor got a little crazy there for a minute. Our new videos are better. The cabinet is amazing and still use it every night with my kiddo after bath time and everything stays cool even when we run it all weekend. Salamander Designs knocked it out of the park!

I researched that cabinet some more and it looks like it costs more than the LS800 itself?! Oooof. I might just try to make my own custom cabinet.

One thing I was thinking about... you said that you can call up Salamander Design and purchase a new top to retrofit a cabinet. Do you think you could sell me just the top that has the cutout?
When I decide to buy one of these I would like my projector to actually sit farther from the wall , do they custom cut the hole to be more towards back or front if you want ? On request
It doesn't matter where you'd like it. There's a finite distance it must sit to make the picture the proper size.
Hey Zak, I want to verify what you said about Salamander cabinets will fit any/all USTs. I'm looking for a cabinet for a "Formovie Theater" UST. Which model from Salamander Designs would work? Also what are you thoughts on AEGIS AV cabinets? Have you had any experiences with them? I live in CO as well and have been to numerous AV stores trying to figure out how to place my UST. Any help would be appreciated.
