Gotta love these Brits. I saw a documentary where they did the hill twice and not one soldier dropped out. The instructors never yelled or harassed the lads. .
And the result is a bunch of guys who can’t even march in unison and take an eternity to remove their rifles. If these guys moved any slower they would be moving backwards!

The American military has a culture of screaming. It’s a tradition. Although I see how this could be more efficient. Still, American training is also quite good.
I salute these men for being disciplined and doing something positive for the country. Every young person should be put through this, even if they are trained to fight or not! Backbone strength and character building

My instructors were awesome, even now after being out 26 years I can still remember it and be deployed instantly! Hopefully the Falklands again as I just missed the first conflict, well training exercise more like to be bluntly honest! Come on Argentina what are you thinking? One PTI I had back in 2011 went by the name Slade-Jones. Absolute beast of a man but genuinely a top bloke who did his utmost to teach us how to be better at PT whilst leaving us with no doubts that he was not to be messed about.
Not in glencourse in the early 90s the training team had their Bergen's weighed same time as the platoon and it was weighed at the end of the run to make sure it was the regulated 45lb after you had your water
Reminds me of our DI in Slovenia back in 2015. Clear and simple and allways for a giggle and shit. He was shorter than me im around 5.9 and I couldnt keep with his looong step 😂. I literally had to jog beside him when we werent marching.

I actually had 2 British sergeants on my QL2 course staff way way back when I first joined the Canadian Forces in the reserve at 16 years old... Hilarious. Terrifying. Absolutely savage. And by far some of the best leaders I came across during my 11 year stint as a proud crayon eating infantard 🇬🇧 🇨🇦
Not vicious at all, just professional and obviously respected. I had PE teachers at my school in England in the 1980s that were vicious, pin us against the wall, press ups in icy puddles, humiliate some poor kids in front of everyone. It probably made me tougher but also made me lack respect for authority. The Army PTI here is the opposite

Yeah, right! You may have guessed that the Sergeant sent the entire platoon up The Hill for their insolence. Don't try to out think your sergeant! 😊

I tried getting into the Army last year & a couple of years before that as a civvi PTI was quite a challenge
Currently in phase one, Illsley got promoted recently and is my current Plt Sergeant, Awesome guy
