As someone who was in eastern Germany studying communism, this was the most powerful moment of my time in Berlin.
It’s important to remember the deaths carried out in the name of Fascism and Communism in WW2 to hold us to the mark - and remind us how extreme ideological governments hurts those living under it. Millions upon millions upon millions of Soviet and German citizens brutalized and murdered because their governments turned on them…
