- Chris Daughtry has been unmasked! After the "American Idol" alum was revealed to be Rottweiler on Season 2 of "The Masked Singer," he sat down with Access Hollywood to chat about his decision to join the show, keeping the secret from his family and his surprising pick for a disguise! "I was bitten by a rottweiler when I was a kid … When I saw that costume, I was like, 'I can relate to this. I can embody my fear and become what I am terrified of," Chris explained. The singer also talked about his new single "Alive," as well as his upcoming tour.

Most underrated! Flawless voice. Third most successful American Idol contestant, and nobody on the panel guessed it was him!
Obviously Kelly and Carrie are 1 and 2 but Daughtry is 3rd most successful? Ahead of Oscar winner and multiple award winning singer Jennifer Hudson? The one who judged two different Voice Shows? The one who just opened a MAJOR movie (cats) and sings the showstoppng song from that musical? And is currently filming RESPECT, playing Aretha Franklin because Aretha herself said "Ain't nobody better be playing me except Jennifer Hudson?". And what about Adam Lambert? Hit albums, singles, acted in Glee and other things, Now lead singer for Queen? Daughtry definitely has equivalent talent to the rest of them, (visual artist, screenwriter) but it just hasn't translated to the same success as these others. Well, maybe Lambert.

While Jennifer Hudson did win an Academy award, every time she releases an album it bombs. Cats was a joke and a total flop. When it comes to record sales, Daughtry is the third most successful.
I hope he covers some of the songs he did on the show. Including Maneater and Castle on the Hill. I'm a little bummed out that he didn't win but I'm so proud of him for being runner-up.

This experience will definitely open up some opportunities for Chris. I'm sure some of these covers will be be records or he will be working with some of these artists in the near future.

Daughtry is underrated & I’m glad he did the show because his voice is special. More people should acknowledge that & his music is great too. Both finalists did an incredible job! Keep it going, 2020.
I really hope he is able to record his cover of Someone You Loved as well. I knew from his first performance it was him and i'm so happy he made it to the finale!

He is an amazing singer when he sang Somebody To Love his voice touches the core of your heart. He is not one dimension, I love love and did I say love his ability and capability of singing different genres...just blew my mind away. Definitely watching his concert and start following his music.

I knew it was him from the moment I saw the commercials for the season. Only Chris Daughtry can belt like that! Especially being a fan of "American Idol" at least he was a runner-up instead of 4th place like he was on there! None of the celebrities had a clue it was him either! LOL!

It was such a delight to fall in love with Daughtry's voice all over again. I kept thinking, "I know this voice, why do I know this voice? Well, if I don't know it, I love it now and am buying all of this person's albums!" I also had the exact same thought in the finale as I did when he was eliminated on Idol, and that was, "WHY DIDN'T HE WIN?" Haha.
I'm so glad he did the show. I've been a fan since Idol. I've been waiting for new music from him for awhile. It's invigorated me as a fan and it sounds like it did him too. So new music coming????? If the new Alive single is any indication where he is heading musically, Im ready.

The precision with how this show is run is incredible!! When this guy was finished with American Idol, he showed up on tour with his band twice in my town.. both shows sold out the day the tickets went on sale. Then in 2016, he opened up for Nickelback and I finally got to see him live. I was so happy!!!!
