Wow, what's happened.... According to the lens crafters commercial they could craft you new lenses in about an hour. So much for advancing with the times. Now it takes a week.
I think that first girl liked bachelor one's looks better than Scott Davis based on her reactions, his "I can charm any woman any time" was a bit much.
Carol was indeed unimpressed: she never even showed up for the pre-trip meeting scheduled a week after this show was taped. Disappeared without a trace and was never heard from again. Real classy, Carol, real classy.
There are really two things to consider: cow tipping indeed was just a few years old by then, but mostly, at that point in time when this TV episode was shot, there was no internet, or email, or even America Online yet, so not all information was centralized or accessible like it largely is now. There were 1200 baud modems you could use your landline to call in on and post messages to message boards, but only the techies had the interest and equipment to do that. Cow tipping is also pretty much a myth and doesn’t work as described. However, cow PAINTING was somewhat of a thing, but I have a feeling even that activity was probably urban legend. The world without the internet was a much different world, and arguably a better one.
The producers were also trying to repair this show after Elaine Joyce's stint the year before. She was great on Match Game and other panel shows. But her as a host left lot to be desired
Interesting! I never knew. I can see a bit of a resemblance in the facial construction and especially, the wit and charm. I always had a crush on Jeff MacGregor.
Yep, that’s the fraternity we were all in at USC. You can search for “Why Chi Phi?” For the finished video. That was the original footage we shot near UCLA in 1988 before shots of the USC house were later dropped in.
She looks away nearly insanely and has that half regret smile, it's a bit awkward lol. That's why I prefer love connection because they get to initially pick with an answer AND seeing their looks, then they date and discover more about their personality. I think that's a safer order than being disappointment straight away like she clearly was.
@@tigergreg8 Nancy Jones who produced Wheel in the 80s was a chaperone on this show in the Jim Lange era. I think Maggie Speak, longtime Jeopardy contestant wrangler, worked on this incarnation of the show.
Number one played up his appearance and muscles too much so I knew she wouldn't pick him. The three women in one night did number 3 in. Women don't want a player who has many other women.
I won't sit through commercials usually, but I will watch these old ones. Lol
It's probably because we don't see the old ones over and over and over again like we do the new ones. Lol
I used to watch this when I was sick or stayed home from school! 😂😂😂
Those 1980s styles were the best!
They had style in those days. I am approximately the same age as the guests, and I miss the dramatic flair of that time.
Wow, what's happened.... According to the lens crafters commercial they could craft you new lenses in about an hour. So much for advancing with the times. Now it takes a week.
3rd guy .. I can charm any woman .. etc etc.... I hope life helped him become more humble.
Jeff Macgregor reminds me of Chuck Woolery. He has the same mannerisms and facial expressions.
Definitely looks like a cross between Chuck and Kevin Bacon!
Thief!
I love his sense of humor!
The frat boy rap song at the end of this video is hiiiilarious!
0:55 - If a 'man' does not respect the wishes of the father of a potential date, the clod is to be avoided at all costs!
Exactly!! He should’ve understood it’s for her personal safety!! I bet God blessed him with a bunch of daughters!! We learn one way or the other!! 😂
Yep, a man has to respect the father of the girl, if not, he has no chance with her.
This woman doesn’t look trashy like they do today. She looks beautiful.
And the men are well groomed & well dressed unlike (some of) the men of today who show their underwear, wear ripped up clothing & need haircuts.
It's all relative..
Scotts got some shifty eyes !
There is ZERO chemistry between the first couple. You can see the disappointment in her face and her body language.
You noticed that to. She was not excited at all.
I think that first girl liked bachelor one's looks better than Scott Davis based on her reactions, his "I can charm any woman any time" was a bit much.
That was the year I met my husband.😊
Carol was.....shall we say....completely unimpressed with Mr. Davis.
Really! She picked him...and she didn't look unpleased to me. Just because she didn't do cart wheels 🤣 isn't a good enough clue.

So the term "cow tipping" hadnt been invented yet? The guy explaining it like no ones ever heard it before. Time is crazy

Joyce looked like she could be the mom of all of them. What was going on back then? Haircut? Clothes? Attidude?
Ronald Reagan ⏲️
I’ve enjoyed the commercials. I remembered a few
Matchmaker aired from 9/21/87-9/16/1988 in daily syndication, and this is from Sep-Dec 1987
I like how bachelor #2 John cornet talks ! Southern
The producers must have scoured all of America to find a Chuck Woolery lookalike! 😂
Did you know he is the son of MASH star McLean Stevenson?
The producers were also trying to repair this show after Elaine Joyce's stint the year before. She was great on Match Game and other panel shows. But her as a host left lot to be desired
Ah, the power mullet, classic
I thought it was a very attractive style on males, personally. My opinion only, of course.
We all had the best hair in those days.
Jeff MacGregor's papa was McLean Stevenson.
Interesting! I never knew. I can see a bit of a resemblance in the facial construction and especially, the wit and charm. I always had a crush on Jeff MacGregor.
She looked like she just made a bad choice 😅
Here's an interview I put together with Scott Davis about the show. ua-cam.com/video/4JKt45urZz0/v-deo.html
👍🏻🌟ty😊
I don’t know who this host is. It’s certain he borrowed some mannerisms from Chuck Woolery.
He seems to like shooting up his eyebrows.
Chuck Woolery is who that is
He was one of many game show hosts in the 70-80’s
Umm....no one wants to discuss what was at 26:55? Did we get subject to someone's college school project there? :D

@@ScottBentona oh boys' you should burn that off of the face of the earth. 🤪Lol!
I would’ve picked Mark Now. He’s sweet. ❤
He was, and cute.
I like this version of the dating game.I read so much about Jeff Macgregor.one thing I read was that was rude to female contestants.
He did not appear to be straight
The hand shake and look down at 11:18 and closed lips @ 11:25 tells it all, Carol was not attracted to Scott.
Agree; no initial spark. Good call on the lip purse. My read was she was attracted to #1.

😳
Am I understanding this right?
All these shows are chaperoned
@@tigergreg8 Nancy Jones who produced Wheel in the 80s was a chaperone on this show in the Jim Lange era. I think Maggie Speak, longtime Jeopardy contestant wrangler, worked on this incarnation of the show.
Being chaperone must certainly be one of the best jobs ever.
@@chuckschillingvideos I have my doubts about that one. Haha.
They do this on dating shows now tho 🤣🤣
Wow pause it at @ 26:30 and watch to 26:33. You don't need to be a body language expert to know she isn't physically attracted to him lol.
Only San Francisco folks remember KBHK TV44
Second set of contestants…#3 Mark Buzby…is HOT.
Wow that video at the end was weird
Number one played up his appearance and muscles too much so I knew she wouldn't pick him. The three women in one night did number 3 in. Women don't want a player who has many other women.
I don't like the woman's way of talking to the men. Her personality isn't nice. She's kind of rude towards others.
Cow Tipping!! Good Times 🐮
"Majoring in Communications..."
We're guys really like that lol
Lord have mercy.
what's with the vulgarity at the end? Cheap!
The host is kind of strange in the things he says and does. He's no Chuck Woolery.
Who is Scott Davis?
Scott Davis changed his name to Scott Benton after he failed on this show when Carol never showed up.
"The Dating Game" was equally as good as "Love Connection".
Lol
No
Jeff McGregor a hot looking dude
