I have entered the Philippines three times now in 2022 & 2023. Each time I showed our marriage license and had no issues getting the one year Balikbayan visa. One thing I made sure to do is follow all the requirements that were in place at the time of travel. Why people want to gripe and complain so much I dont know. I enjoyed each visit and will return again in 2024.

Af ter my 30 days was up I went to extend it cost five thousand five hundred peso for extra month. I then extended another month and that was another five thousand five hundred. Total 3 maths. So for the extra 2 maths was eleven thousand. Be aware you can only extend for one month. Then you have to go back to extend another month if you want to stay three months.

The only time they ask for Etravel was when I boarded in LAX. They still have the paper declaration, but didn’t need it because I filled it out onl8ne and they didn’t even ask for it when I got to the Philippines May 11th.

We understand the need to fill out the ETravel 72 hours prior to our arrival in the Philippines. But what if we are just going to be in the Philippines for 1 day and then go to Guam the next day after arriving in Manila? Will be need to fill out the ETravel for our departure 72 hours prior to departing the Philippines even if we have not yet arrived in the Philippines? (We will be back again in the Philippines after 3 days in Guam and stay longer at that time).

Thank you Jocelyn for sharing your expertise on the subject matter. Next year, Jan ‘25, my wife and I will be going home, for a total of 60 days. We both are US citizens and I still have my old original PI passport but my wife does not (she never had one). From what I’ve read on the Phil. Embassy website in DC, returning Balikbayans or former Filipinos may also enter the Philippines without a visa and stay for a period of one (1) year, provided that they have a passport valid for 6 months beyond the intended stay in the Philippines, and proof of former Philippine citizenship (e.g. old Philippine passport or PSA-authenticated birth certificate). Foreign spouses and their children may also avail themselves of this privilege if traveling with the Balikbayan, subject to a presentation of a proof of affiliation (e.g. marriage certificate for spouse and birth certificate for children).
Jocelyn, do we have to do anything upon landing at NAIA to get our visas? Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon.

Hello. The way I was told to do it, I go through TMobile, as no other U.S. cell phone really works in PH, and went to TMobile and bought a $150 (+$30 activation fee) cell phone and had them clone it to my main phone. Then they take the block off to free up your spare phone, then hand it over in PH to get your PH SIM card with your PH phone number with all your information from your main cell phone that was cloned to it. Can still use data (no calls) with your Tmobile for codes and social media etc.., no calls or it's $$$$$$. And then use your PH phone while there also. I run Express VPN, so with your U.S. cell phone, you can just VPN your usual U.S. location. All this technology (not a fan) seems to have made life more difficult rather than make life easier. 👍

Today is May 31,2024 and l just finished watching this travel requirement you posted. My question is this. Do l need to get a visa from the Philippines’ Consulate here in Houston before l fly to stay in the Philippines for more than 3 months for vacation.
I have a round trip ticket from June to September of this year. Born in the Philippines but already a naturalized American citizen and have an American passport.

In your case, you only have to travel to the Philippines with your Filipina spouse and present your marriage license upon arrival, so you can be allowed to stay in the Philippines for 1 year under the Balikbayan visa.

Clicking to 'forgot password ' could not help me to register again, as the response would turn to 'invalid account'. Next is MPIN 6-digit requirement after OTP. Where does one obtain MPIN?
