I am planning to take a three months trip to the following countries: Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. I am planning to stay less than 30 days in each country. I currently live in USA. What is the best way to buy airlines tickets? Am I able to make Philippines as my two way ticket destination and make a 3 months reservation and buy other one way ticket from Philippines to other countries and leave Philippines within the first 30 days but come back to fly back to USA? Hope my question makes sense.
USA to Philippines (two way ticket) September 1 - December 1 but leave Philippines on September 21...
Philippines to Thailand (one way ticket) September 21-October 15
Thailand to Vietnam (one way ticket) October 15- November 2
Vietnam to Indonesia (one way ticket) November 2- November 24
Indonesia to Philippines (one way ticket) November 24
Leave Philippines to USA on December 1 (back using the original 2 way ticket)
AM I able to do that using the 30 day Visa?

Hi. Thanks for all this good information.
As I am married to a Filipina. Is it best to petition for a permanent residency as a spouse before or after arriving to the Phil?
Also. As a spouse, we will be moving there for good early next year. Do I need a return ticket to show immigration in the airport when we arrive?

Question, My wife and I are both US citizens, but she is a former Filipino citizen. We plan on moving there in November and aren’t sure about the ticket purchase. When we go to fill out the etravel form, is it allowed to just buy a one way ticket since we will both get the 1 year balikbayan stamp when we arrive or are we required to purchase a round trip ticket? I would hate to spend the extra money since we plan on staying in the Philippines. Thanks

That's because your eTravel registration is automatically linked to your passport. So when the immigration officer scans your passport upon arrival in the Philippines, they will see if you've registered to eTravel or not.

We understand the need to fill out the ETravel 72 hours prior to our arrival in the Philippines. But what if we are just going to be in the Philippines for 1 day and then go to Guam the next day after arriving in Manila? Will be need to fill out the ETravel for our departure 72 hours prior to departing the Philippines even if we have not yet arrived in the Philippines? (We will be back again in the Philippines after 3 days in Guam and stay longer at that time).

Hi Jocelyn: I am a foreign national (U.S.A.) married to a Filipino dual citizen (U.S.A. and Philippines). I called the Consulate and was told that I can stay in the Philippines up to one year if I travel with my spouse. I wasn’t given any more details, so I want to know how that works. Do I need to apply for 59 days and keep extending each month? Or do I simply book two round trip tickets and everything is okay? I’m a bit confused about how this works. Thank you for your response.

Hello. The way I was told to do it, I go through TMobile, as no other U.S. cell phone really works in PH, and went to TMobile and bought a $150 (+$30 activation fee) cell phone and had them clone it to my main phone. Then they take the block off to free up your spare phone, then hand it over in PH to get your PH SIM card with your PH phone number with all your information from your main cell phone that was cloned to it. Can still use data (no calls) with your Tmobile for codes and social media etc.., no calls or it's $$$$$$. And then use your PH phone while there also. I run Express VPN, so with your U.S. cell phone, you can just VPN your usual U.S. location. All this technology (not a fan) seems to have made life more difficult rather than make life easier. 👍

If you are traveling to the Philippines alone, a return or onward ticket is required (because you will be treated as a regular visitor). If you are traveling with your Filipino spouse, an outbound ticket is not required (because you will be allowed to stay for 1 year under the Balikbayan visa).

    1. Do we need travel insurance while travelling to Philippines
    2. Do we have to fill e-travel form while flying back from Philippines to my home country also?
