Stephen deserves more acknowledgement for his role in these amazing collaborations. As a fellow musician [ a heavy rocker] he has become his dad's No 1 fan, and with his brother, Ashley [a writer] have done their very best, to fill the gap created by the loss of Barry's brothers.
Stephen was the one who inspired, encouraged, researched, AND organized his dad, to invite these other artists to go to Nashville, to create this wonderful album - with an amazing producer - Dave Cobb.

This is one of the songs Barry wrote and recorded with his brothers when they lived in Australia when he was a young kid. So nice to hear him do it again.
Marmalade did a really good version after the Bee Gees became hot property in England and Aussie Ronnie Burns put his own version on and album with a host of other Gibb Brothers comositions, both worth checking out on youtube, Ronnie used the Gibb's demo backing track same as he did on Coalman, Exit Stage Right and In The Morning.
Just yo clarify, this song was written by all 3 brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice

Great Barry !!! ... I first heard this beautiful song at the end of the docufilm about you Gibb brothers. I was very moved and it's really weird but it's like the Gibb brothers have been our friends and they have deeply marked our lives with their songs and their stories for the whole our life (I follow them since away 1969 and I will never tire of hearing about them and listening to their magnificent music)... and now we miss them as someone very close and dear to us and we deeply share in Barry's grief and longing for the brothers as if they were one with ourselves... and the beautiful documentary film about them really strengthened and underlined this feeling... Thank you ever so much Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb, thank you for the great gift you have given tu all of us!!! We will love you all for ever!!! 👏💔👏

I play music in small venues. Last night was only the second time in many months since pandemic closings. People seem eager to enjoy life again, couples danced together, some dancing that l'd never seen dance before. Toward the end of the night, I played To Love Somebody and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart and people loved it. The Bee Gees and they're music are a treasure.

@@allymayful To be honest, I wasn't even aware Barry's boys were involved in Barry's performances until I saw videos wherein he mentioned them. They each have their individual careers but do step in to play with their dad when they're able to. Additionally, they provide moral support for him. In one-on-one interviews each son has enlightened us as to the circumstances and events that surrounded Robin, Maurice's and Baby Andy's passings and how it affected their Dad...how difficult it was for him to conceive of performing without the twins by his side...all completely understandable since they'd never been apart except for that brief parting too many years back that it's just a blip on the screen of their successes. Each brother raised their kids with an awareness of music and, for the most part the Bee Gees offspring are all natural talents. It was so heartwarming to see Maurice's daughter Samantha duet with her Uncle Barry...he was so proud to introduce her and she definitely inherited the magical Bee Gee genes. I think it would be great if any of the nieces and nephews were willing and available, if they'd perform along with their Uncle Barry on occasion...what a very special treat that'd be for him and for millions and millions of fans who loved their fathers.

I use to own the Rare, Precious and Beautiful 3 album set of many of their early Australian songs. Beautiful to hear "Butterfly" again. The music of the Bee Gees is so much more than their disco period, and this gorgeous arrangement just shows the maturity and talent of the brothers Gibb even in those early days.

Same here. Its arrangement is so "completely unoriginal" that one can't but recall the original harmony and feel like they're listening to a subpar cover of this song which is one of the strongest from their late-1966 recordings.
