    The green coolant is the reason for your tear apart season . Green coolant does not mix with red causes a corrosion to your head gasket and eats aluminum . When putting back together flush system and heater core to get all green out and put correct antifreeze back in .

      Its the same parts in general . different is in the piston or crank , same heads .all Tacoma are 2.4 , rare case 2.7 . T100 are 2.7 or the v6 . but you could do swaps to ether truck 2.7 to 2.4 or 2.4 to 2.7 ..

  • @skylermartyn

    Thanks for the video! I have a quick question that might be sort of off topic. I was doing a coolant flush and I made the mistake of putting room temp water in an engine that was still hot. Now I have an exhaust leak in the cooling system, so when I go to burp it the bubbles don’t stop, and there’s a sweet smell to the exhaust. There also seems to be a little bit of coolant in the oil. What are the chances that this is the head gasket versus a cracked block or head? Do you think it’s worth it to take it apart to check or is it hosed?

    • @fixergood
      @fixergood  2 роки тому +2

      usually when you have exhaust getting into tye coolant its a head gasket or a cracked head . only way to tell is you could do a dye test that checks for exhaust gas in the coolant. but beyond that to know for sure you would have to remove the head and check for warpage and cracks at a machine shop. thanks for watchin really appreciate it

    I have this engine but a 2.4. I just noticed oil in my intake. Also that it has excessive blowby. When I removed gas cap I noticed suction, pressure and it was sprinkling oil out. Im considering and oil catch can but would that add more pressure in my crankcase.

    • @fixergood
      @fixergood  2 роки тому +1

      sounds like you could have a faulty pcv valve issue or you could have some other mechanical issue cause oil in the intake , If your talking about the cabon build up around the throttle plate that's normal.

    • @L-Noble.YT_Hi.Res-Soundminds
      @L-Noble.YT_Hi.Res-Soundminds 4 роки тому +3

      Yes the heads are the exactly the same on both. 2.7l has a taller engine block deck height because of the longer stroke. 95-00 heads have 8 round intake ports, 01-04 has 4 oval intake ports. Exhaust ports are the same for both.Early tacomas had distributor type ignition then newer ones had double coil packs with wires then they came with individual coil on plug inginition. Also later tacomas did not have the egr system as the earlier engines.
