Not sure about the lengths. There's about a meter left when I install on a car that is 4.40m long.

the other part was speed overlay on the video, which i still havent confirmed works on the video from the fron camera too... (could you possibly confirm this?)
I read that timelapse was disabled to stop the unit becoming too hot.

Nice video! Is the rear camera attached with an electro-static sticker like the front one? It seems like it's just glue? Can it be repositioned without loosing adhesiveness?
You can use a folio for the rear one too. And yes - of you carefully un-stick it can be used again.
Is the USB port connected to the camera Mini USB or the Micro USA? Can the beeping sound be turned off when the dashcam is initially powered?

1st the hardware kit is included or is it an extra choice in ordering?? (i ordered it a few hours ago, and i just realised i think its not inlcuded...)
2nd and my most important, does the speed overlay work on the front recorded video too? both in your review and a couple others i saw the speed info on the rearview camer video...

1. The hard-wire kit is not included. Might need to be ordered additionally.
2 not sure about the speed overlay with single module. The other 70Mai models support it, so it likely will be there.
Pretty good review, thank you. Is there a solution which makes the rear camera removable? Travelling from Hungary to Austria this is a must have option (dash cams are banned, the fines are astronomic)

Great review. I would like to confirm one of the drawbacks mentioned at 8.26, about "no motion detection". I assume it's about a trigger when on parking surveillance mode to start recording video, is this assumption correct? And 1 more thing if I may confirm, is there a shock detection feature when on parking surveillance mode that starts emergency recording?
About the parking mode - yes, your assumption is correct. Once a shake is being detected, it begins emergency recording.

There is no way to do it. Rotating angle is limited.

Hello, how have you managed to bring the edition to 16:9 and what operation did you perform so that the information on the time, km/h and coordinates is not visible in the final video? I would also like to know if this same thing can be avoided with the camera. rear, since I understand that this information appears in all videos by default. Thank you so much.
You set the resolution to something that is 16 x 9 - like 1920 x 1080. In the settings you can switch to km/h

How did you get the route at 6.44 minute? I searched for it on the app but I didn't find it... Great rewiew!
You need to get some of the files downloaded. Then disconnect from the camera and the app should generate the routes based on the GPS data from the fines. I did nothing - just waited.
Is there an extension available for the rear camera as my car is larger than most, Mits Pajero and does the rear camera come on automatically when reversing? Thanks
Not that I know... Perhaps you can get a spare cable and ask someone to extend it for you.

Hey i have a question. I bought this camera but because it’s connected to the car’s hardwire system and not the ciggarette slot, it suggests to set the settings to “automatically turn off after 5 minutes”. That means after it turns off, i’ll have to manually turn it on everytime i start the car again. Is there any way around this?
No - it means that the camera will go into standby mode after 5 minutes. THis is the better option. You don't want recordings of the car being parked during the night.
Is the display large enough to see the picture of the reversing camera during parking? I had a mirror dash cam but unofrtunatelly it was not reliable and often freezed, is the firmware of this camera stable enough? Is it possible to turn off the display during driving?
You can see the rear unit, however it really depends on the angle if it will be useful as parking monitor.
The firmware is perfectly stable and each feature I've tried worked flawlessly.
The display can be turned on or off at any point of time by pressing the main button, and you can configure it to automatically go off in 30, 60 or more seconds.

How would you rate the parking guard mode since it does not have a motion sensor? Is it realiable if you don't use the hardwire kit? Did you test the parking guard?
If you want a camera for parking mode - better look for something else.

I think it's 5 meters. Not sure of the exact measurement but it's really very long. I had quite a bit of extra cable left when I installed mine.
heyy bro, i have the one without the plus, but the image is like kinda grainy.... is there any setting to do ? because i have 1 from aliexpress and cheaper (20euros) its much better than this as an image. i know the mai is better but maybe i have some settings messed up?
It should be good enough with the default settings. Might be something wrong with the unit - maybe you can ask for a replacement?
@@TechMishka i think i found the problem. its because the lens is not close enough to the windscreen, it grabs reflections (from dashboard and what reflects in the windscreen) the one from ali express i mentioned it was too close to the windscreen so it dont grab reflections. thanks for ur reply bro
Hi! Thank you for this review. I recently got the 70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus+ A500S. However, I do not have the "Driving route data synchronization" button, I only have "Take Photo" and "Albums" button. But when I try to sync via settings / automatic sync, successful naman po sya. Btw, version 2.0.2 po yung app ko. Any help would be appreciated! 💖
hmmm... Maybe you can just connect and download whatever routers are present, then connect the phone to the internet and it should download the rest of the data from Google Maps.
nice video, I have 70mai Pro+ too but how come when I viewing my footage that only shows 4:3 (square) but not 16:9 (wide)?? any settings I need to do? my video resolution is 2592x1944.
Do the maths and you will find out why. Use 1920 x 1080.

1. Didn't find a way. If 1080p resolution is present - then it will be the 16 x 9 ratio.
2. Yes, you will see real-time image.

Can you make a recording without connecting the cam to the cigarette charger or hardwire it? I'm not really keen to have some dangling wires. I see in the specs it has 500mAh battery, but in all reviews it's plugged in to a power source and nobody mentions it. Or is this battery only for the 24h surveillance feature?
You can make, of course. However the embedded battery will last only for limited amount of time - around 10-20 minutes. You can always use a power bank too. But is clearly not convenient option.
Wht if i install it in cigar charger will it still record if any shocks absorbed by the car while in parking?
It will be able to rely on the internal battery for this, however it will hardly last for more than 20 minutes worth of recording.
At 70mai Pro when I download video in my pc I can't see speed and GPS coordinates (it's available only on camera). It's the same at A800 and A500Plus+ ?

How is the battery on standby. The problem that I have with my current dash cam is that overnight the battery discharges and it resets the time and it records on the same 5 min loop all over, since after the reset thats the latest video date.
It can last for about 20 minutes. Haven't had an issue with date resetting.
70mai A800 or pro plus A500S which one would you get ?
There don't seem to be many differences. THey are almost the same.
A500S have a rear camera and 2.7K recording front, and back 2K, A800 have 4K. A800S have back camera, same as A500S (2K recording).

The 4:3 frame is really a deal-breaker. Did you have to crop the upper and the lower part every time?

After a few searches it seems the a500 does not support the rearcam module in case you buy it separately. It doesn't have the rearcam port

Depends on what you want. I had 70Mai with my old car and it was great. Good image, easy transfer of video. And it was only 28euros from aliexpress when i bought it.

The front one is easy to remove. For the rear one - you have to use extra adhesive.

Image quality is almost the same.

you can set the camera to auto turn off after 10 or 20 min after no motion. when you get back to your car you have to manually turn it back on. this is solved if you power it via the hardwire kit
If the electricirty there drops - yes. There also is mode where the power feed to the lighter stays. Just as Alexandre explains.

Yes, but it will last for limited amount of time and is a bigger battery which can eventually explode...

No motion detection means no collision detection? So what if so someone hit the car when at park? Can we trace back the footage?
There is collision detection, however it is based on the gravity sensor - if there's a shake, it will start recording. It will be however after the event.

Depends on the point of view... it is a little smarter than it. Image quality of A119 v3 is superb.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem, after installing the last update, corelated with the disappearance of the voice controls. Hope that a new update will resolve these inconveniencies.

I have both A500s and A800s. Overall it is below standard in video quality as the bit rates is way too low. There are more setback on A800s then A500s.
A800s setback include but not limited to ....
1. Even using Sandisk Extreme Pro V30 U3 rated memory card, unit still says sd card is too slow
2. The My-Driving Route is no way visible or available, don't know why
Overall the dashcam is a great investment

The driving route will appear after you download a video to the app, then disconnect the camera and make sure the phone has internet connection.

Can't get the GPS and speed info displayed. Iam guessing a defect unit. The route also not able to see.
There should be an option in the firmware to show it up. Or you may be right and there is a hardware trouble.

We purchased mai 70 pro plus 4 months ago. Purchased from Lasada. the cam is not working. first said memory disk failure so we replaced it. Said format, we did, now goes off and on and is hot. battery is ok. Supplier said past warranty period and he knows nobody that can repair it. we are in the Philippines and have become frustrated because there is no post sales support we can find.. We certainly would not recommend this product and would greatly appreciate any help you could give us.

The smartphone app automatically downloads the maps once your phone is connected to the internet.
Good dash cam but for some reason, sometimes it will enter a restart loop. On for a couple seconds then off then comes back on for a few seconds then off.
Seems like a power source issue. Check the cable or try another one.

However, I have a Big Question, Like a " catantu23" asked before me, How to Sync Driving Route to the Smartphone app. I searched everywhere on the Internet, But I can't find anything about that. Please Help. Thank You.
Oh, that part annoyed me too a little bit. So - you have to connect the app and get a list of the files inside the dashcam. Then, after you download one or two of them and disconnect, the app will use internet and based on the GPS input will generate the routes for you.

@@bhaveshkavad5606 Me too! Supposedly a battery should be 1/2 charged or less to send/ship but most items I've received from China or Hong Kong were close to fully charged. Don't think China cares less for tiny action cams, diving lights, torches or even big gimbals and drone batteries with large battery capacities either in most cases! Some Chinese sellers won't ship batteries alone, only installed in the unit.
