How to Remove Magnetic Snap Rivet

In this video, Klum House founder + pattern designer Ellie Lum demonstrates how to remove a magnetic snap rivet using a rivet removal tool, a mallet, and a punching board. Our Maywood Totepack and Naito Bucket Bag patterns have a magnetic snap rivet. If you set it incorrectly, this tool makes it easy to remove and install a new one!

I've tried it on two different types of magnetic snap rivets with absolutely no luck. It works great for regular rivets though !

Do you have any tips for removing invisible magnetic snap rivets WITHOUT the rivet removal tool?

You just need something with a hole the size of the rivet. A little hole in a stacked cardboard (4 plies) , a screwdriver and a hammer worked for me (just 5 minutes ago.. :) )
