      Please check the kit condition and year of manufacture. Most of what I've seen were in the 100-200K range.

    Are any of these available in kit form? Since they are classified as ultralights, is a pilot's license not required as with winged ultralight aircraft?

    • @captscarlet8793
      @captscarlet8793 3 роки тому +2

      I think this is the british definition of ultralight, not the US definition. so yeah, you need a license. ;) not a single one of these are at or under 254 lbs. so none are ultralights by US definition.

      Mr Brians Life - all of the Mosquito helicopters come in a kit form or if you wish, ready to fly from the factory and, yes; they do have an ultralight version. The Mosquito XET shown in the video is not the ultralight version but rather the top end of the Mosquito product line. The ultralight version that you're looking for is called the Mosquito XEL; and is a legal ultralight in the USA, no license required to fly.
      Richard is correct in the 254 lbs. limitation, however; the FAA released Advisory Circular AC 103-7 to further define the weights of an ultralight. In that circular(page 9) it made weight allowances for safety equipment - 24 lbs. for a BRS type parachute - 30lbs per amphibious float - so, a float on each of the skids of the XEL would grant an additional 60 lbs. of allowed weight. The 60 lbs. allowance pushes the allowed weight of the ultralight from 254 lbs. to 314 lbs. total. Per the manufacturers web site /composite(dash)fx(dot)com, the empty weight of the XEL is 312 lbs., thus making it a US legal ultralight.
      Best wishes in your flying pursuits. I hope you bag that bird, but please get some instruction before you jump into any aircraft.

      @@cliffterrell4876 They are now,but what is'nt.Ours was 28,000.00 when we got it,32,000.00 with the elastomeric bearing.The new Corvette lt 3 ,c8 convertible is going to be 160,000.00 here in California rather than the 92,000 it was promised as a convertible.2 years ago the mfg list was 58,000 plus tax for the coupe (base model ) My 82 was 28,000.00 new.....58,000.00 40 years later would be reasonable but 140,000.00 is absurd ! And the dealers are marking them up 20 to 50,000 ABOVE their cost which already had the suggested profit built in the sticker price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Regular people can't buy this shit any more and that sucks BIG TIME !!!!!!!!!!!

      I am building a Helicycle right now! Not to discourage, but the pricing she mentioned isn't even close! Helicycle Ventures lists their pricing for a basic kit with engine and transmission for 67K, Add more for factory built options. To build it yourself will be more like 85K when I am done. Well worth it for me though!! See my work at Kentucky Helicycle on You Tube. ua-cam.com/channels/T7bojBl6l8X11vPcAwWvKA.html

    A MINI MD500 - 🚁 with way much more power & as a two-seater would be nice😊‼️ … but wait!?!🤔 …
    … 🧐 it would be probably so expensive that you should directly spending a bit more to get better a real little-Bird, or⁉️
    … damn!, this business is unluckily only for rich people!
    Thanks for the upload and no I go & start to cry 😭‼️ 😉✌🏼

      It's understandable that the world of aviation can seem expensive, but there's always room for innovation and new ideas! A mini MD500 with extra power and a two-seater configuration would indeed be interesting. Who knows, advancements in technology and design might lead to more accessible options in the future. Keep the dream alive, and in the meantime, enjoy the fascinating developments in the aviation industry!
