I've never even thought of mixing those chemicals in my house, I always put them directly in the pool
Couple attempted to make meth, but blame pool chemicals when it all went horribly wrong 😂
The warning label and instructions clearly state to add the chemical directly into the pool not to mix it into a separate container first. The warning labels also warned against mixing different chemicals together. Not only did they ignore these warning labels but they went to an enclosed area inside the home to mix the chemicals. Some people just aren't very smart.
There should be a warning label that says "Warning: Mixing different manufacturers or types of shock treatment, or with other pool chemicals will cause an explosion which may result in property damage and/or serious personal injury" in all caps, large font size, and the ISO 7010-W002 explosive material warning symbol.
Better yet why were they mixing them in the kitchen sink 🤦♂️
They definitely flunked chemistry 😂
I’m generally opposed to over regulating any industry but this happens often enough that labeling rules need to be changed. Labeling 4 different chemicals simply as “Shock” and putting them in nearly identical containers will inevitably lead to mishandling. The only difference in in the packaging is a hard to decipher chemical name that includes some variation of the word “chlorine”. The written instructions are in the tiniest of print and also nearly the same among the different products. At the very least I would suggest color coding of the package across all brands with clear instructions not to mix the different colors.
I mean if they bothered to read the labels on the packages this wouldn't have happened. They all say pretty clearly not to mix in a separate container but to add straight to the pool.
The elites like to think that the poolman is insignificant and a dummy. For the most part, that is true, but when these penny pinchers blow themselves up......oh what a laugh it is.😊
Thats why you hire a pool professional

The store having them next to either on the shelf isn't safe either
They probly hadq tabs in there
Which ones did they mix, for research purposes, of course. ;)
Most likely cal hypo and tri chlor. I’m surprised they didn’t mention this so people don’t make the same mistake
