In this video, we delve into the life and work of Adipo Sidang', a distinguished Kenyan author, poet, playwright, and consultant on governance and cultural issues. Known for his profound engagement with themes such as corruption, political leadership, justice, and social issues, Sidang' has made significant contributions to the literary world.
Adipo Sidang' gained recognition with his poetry collection Parliament of Owls, published in 2016 and later adapted into a stage play. This work, along with his other notable writings, reflects his deep engagement with Kenya's political and cultural landscape. His novella, A Boy Named Koko, won the 2017 Burt Awards for Young Adult Literature and was shortlisted for the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature in 2019. Sidang' continues to contribute to literature through various projects, including a collection of poems in his mother tongue, Abaramach, and his involvement in the Agora Theatre group.
