The panda's death by starvation says a lot about their species as a whole.
Even the pandas themselves want to go extinct. It wouldn't be fair to force them to live when they obviously are doing everything in their power to just die out.

I think you mean they’re an aquatic species. Amphibious refers to amphibians
I didn't realise it was mutually exclusive. I assumed it just meant "semi-aquatic"
It is used that way to describe amphibious vehicles and things similar to that. But for animals you wouldn’t use it that way. Like a crocodile, for example, you wouldn’t describe a reptile as amphibious, or a penguin, you wouldn’t describe a bird as amphibious. They would just be aquatic or semi aquatic.

I call nonsense on bringing in a perfectly healthy and fed grizzly. The tigers were gipped of their rightful victory.
Indeed! This is really bugging me... not fair.
Especially as there was a male grizzly in there the whole time wearing other animals down. New guy was well fed, healthy, not battle scarred. Also complicating the situation is that he only used 1 type of tiger, but every type of bear. Bengal Tigers are tough, but he didn't include Siberian Tigers, which are much tougher. Other battle royales I've seen and done, the Siberians dominate. Apart from tortoises, Siberian tigers seem to have the best rating for survival.
U guys are really gonna be salty over a fun battle royale video. That really shows how childish people can be...

Some people just don't know a bargain when it's right in their faces. Live bloodsport of endangered animals for the price of a zoo ticket is a steal, highly unethical, but you can't argue with the deal.
I found this misuse of the game less stressful than Jon's legitimate attempts to decorate enclosures.
I doubt that achievement name has ever been quite so appropriate. "Life finds a way," indeed.

It's so in character for the panda to die of being too damn lazy to keep itself alive.
I know. Their lives are completely, one hundred percent in human hands these days. On the one hand, yes, we're killing the plants they normally eat, but on the other hand, we also kill the predators that are eating their babies. And truth be told they don't NEED to eat bamboo. If zoo keepers threw injured animals into their cages, they'd go to town on those things too. Pandas do eat meat, they just can't compete with other predators or catch much in the way of healthy prey. It's why they eat bamboo.

I'm torn over the outcome here. Being a cat lover I was rooting for the tigers, but on the other hand the grizzlies are the natural choice as my home team (and there's the whole sending in a ringer for the bears thing... makes the home team look like cheats).
I guess I can comfort myself with the grizzlies winning as last ones standing, but technically the tigers won on points?
That would actually make sense, grizzlies are omnivores so are less likely to hunt so the tiger being unable to eat anything but meat would have to hunt more.

Instead of the hunger games this is the Darwin games.
This was good until you took away the herbivore food. That made sure that the bears had an advantage just by way of food being available.
Also bringing in a perfectly healthy, fresh grizzly bear so far into the battle. Rigged af.
@@Beos_Valrah Yeah, that made a bit more sense, though, since the other one was glitched out of existence. Removing ALL the food though, when a good chunk of the population's food was...the rest of the population? That's just dumb.
This game was rigged for the grizzlies, you can't just add a fresh competitor in the final part of the match
There also was no food at the end for the herbivores. The elephants and hippos would be hard to kill.

Do wish that when Jon renamed the animals, he had named them "Species 1" and "Species 2" (or "Species Male" and "Species Female" or some such) for better clarity of who died and who got the credit.
You know how you can tell the difference between a North American brown bear and a grizzly bear? You climb a tree. If it climbs up after you and mauls you, it is a brown bear. If it knocks the tree down and mauls you, it is a grizzly bear.

Love how Jon praises the bear for the tiger kill, even going out of the way to specifically praise the male grizzly, when it was the female who got the kill, and the male who was stuck in the trading post. It says on the right the gender of the selected animal on the right! Jon often credited male animals with female kills (and once in the start, the opposite). There's no way it could have been the male grizzly, who was brand new, when the male has excellent status while the female is near dead.

This made me think of a kids programme a few years ago with Chris Packham answering questions, one young lad asked if all the animals had a fight who'd win, Chris, in true Packham fashion asked the lad who he thought would, kid answered the lion, "no" said Chris, " A Grizzly bear could pu,nch clean through a lion's skull, big cats wouldn't stand a chance!"
Now that we know that animals can get nutrition from other animals, I would love to see him try to make an entire Zoo where the only way that he feeds the animals is to feed them other animals and see if he can actually run the zoo like that
I feel like this was way too weighted towards carnivores. Perhaps a herbivore only round if possible
They should have had food for the herbivores at the end. The grizzlies wouldn't stand a chance against the elephants or hippos.
