This urban metal detecting channel is dedicated to answering the question, what lies buried under New York City? In this video I got a tip from a viewer who found a horde of old coins by the BELT Parkway in Brooklyn. I go metal detecting Brooklyn's historic waterfront in Canarsie in the footprint of Golden City, a turn of the 20th century attraction hidden in the footprint of the BELT Parkway in New York City's borough of Brooklyn.

Golden City has been referenced in several articles and books.

I am a treasure hunter. So in addition to metal detecting, I go mudlarking at sites such as Dead Horse Bay. Think of mudlarking as metal detecting without a metal detector.

My most important series is called Becoming A Millionaire Metal Detecting. I am trying to monetize my favorite hobby in order to do it more in the future. In other words, we put the clad we find in the ground, affiliate earnings, and merchandise earnings in to the stock market and we invest it. This show started in January 2019.

Im crossing my fingers! Thank you NSW detecting!
Hi Merrill! I used your Haagen-Dazs ice cream method, but in reverse. I was not finding silver until I ate the Haagen-Dazs, and then I unlocked the silver! Thanks! Gene McDaniel
Looks like you had a good time, thank you for sharing!
Im just happy to be digging after having so much cold weather for so long. Thank you for checking it out as always Mainely Digger!
@@MetalDetectingNYC It's been in the 50's all day here, and the weather isn't suppose to change. I can't wait to go digging!
That looks like some tough diggin! You stuck it out and found some keepers though! Keep at it my friend!
Just located a picture of Bergen beach amusement park which was located a few miles away from gc.first one I've ever seen with shots of the inside of the park..
Forget the beach, try the other side of the highway.
agreed!
He strip along the bike path is where I found the coins..consider back in 1900 people walks eveywhere..the area is a boon to counhooters
Thanks Merrill, were you using the sun-glasses camera ?
Brian Quilty yes! I have a learning curve to go through with filming with them as you can see. They film a little bit higher than I was anticipating (which makes sense considering the placement of the camera lens)..
Nice dime. Could the copper piece be a mason jar lid?
Merrill, have you been back here?
Merrill have you ever gone back with your crew to see if you can find any relics of Golden City?
Not yet. We’re all focused on getting around the city and finding new sites.
seems like so much trash to pick through on the beach, try the other side :) i hate trash picking. Thanks for sharing liked and subbed!!!
