My eyes were sweating the first time I listened to Teddy. Seriously, he just pulls all sorts of emotions from your heart. His voice is so beautiful, thank you for such a great reaction. It was affecting you and you let it happen. At other times in the song you let the music speak for itself, you let Teddy sing and your comments added a lot too. Reactions like yours are always appreciated.

Bonnie Raitt recorded this first. 1991. She’s someone you need to listen to. I would do “Love Has No Pride” first. Her performance is so emotional yet controlled. Peace.

Bonnie Raitt sang it back in 1991. The thing about it was that Bonnie only did one take of the song because she wanted it to be an authentic emotion of the song. And well, it worked. She’s well known for singing it.
The idea for the song came to Reid (song writer) while reading an article about a man arrested for getting drunk and shooting at his girlfriend's car. The judge asked him if he had learned anything, to which he replied, "I learned, Your Honor, that you can't make a woman love you if she don't."
This is the song that got me hooked on Teddy. I had to look up all his covers he was recording and then his own music with his band. Fell in love with his voice from the first note! He is now out on tour with The Zac Brown Band! He is finally making it big! 🙂🙂💖💖💖
I discovered Teddy Swims about a year or so ago. Dude is an amazing artist and his voice has so much range! Very talented.

Dog, I discovered Teddy the same way you did, and like everybody else I was blown away. I encourage you to go all the way down the rabbit hole of his covers. He just released his first album recently. We need to support him! Also, I made a promise to myself that the first concert I would go to post-Covid would be Teddy Swims. Trying to get there ASAP!

Teddy and band hit UA-cam almost two years ago. They signed with Warner and were in Cali one week then covid. They are from Atlanta. Covid had put things on hold, probably why there are so many covers. Released original music this past may. I recommend:

He is good. The only other person I've heard sing this was a woman. I can't remember who. My mind tells me it was Bette Midler, or Kim Carnes(not sure of the spelling), but I could be way off. I do know it was from their era. The older I get, the more scatterbrained I get. It's a beautiful and very sad song.
