I'm super happy to see an update for AD2, it's been my goto acoustic drum plugin since AD1. Nice fresh look, very tasty. Scaling the UI was possible for some time, btw : )
Scaling was available since way back yes, but we've now updated the whole graphics and typography engine, and remastered all drum/kit images, so the actual resolution of the sclaed up UI looks waaaay better now. 🙂
Please tell me they added a dark mode. This looks way to bright for my taste. But otherwise this update looks great tbh. I just bought AD2 on their last sale. Would be nice to get a few recommendations for which kits to buy for DnB production btw.! I started with Funk, Fairfax Vol. 1 and Studio Rock for now.
Thanks for this as I seem to have forgotten to update my email preferences with this company so I wouldn’t have known about it. I'm a bit conflicted about this product. The included midi grooves seem really busy in a way I’ve never heard in most recorded 'band' music with a real drummer. Contrast this with the spartan sequencing option in XO. I kind of feel that Addictive is aimed at breakbeat and DnB producers, not the rock and RnB folks they ostensibly serve.
Great walk through. Thank you. I am new to this. Can I upload my guitarplaying and then the program will find beats for me? I will use it for inspiration, and then adjust the tone etc afterward
I really hope they will update the samples at some point, this library has the potential to play with the big boys like superior drummer but it sounds outdated
Very happy to see this. Just wish instead of the beat transformer (or in addition to it), they'd just give us a simple timeline and midi note editor, like EZdrummer 3 has. I usually prefer the sounds from AD2, but EZD3 is so much easier and complete to work in.
when the biggest feature is Rescaling and you're going on about it, maybe it's time to use actual drum software. this software was ass a decade ago lol now it sounds even worse compared to existing tech

Those are great for DNB!
The Soul RnB kit is also awesome
The Funk kit is the go-to for all the DnB heads I talk to, also a mix of FairFax Vol , Modern Soul & RnB, and United Pop. All great all rounders!
I use all the kits for dnb but I use almost only the snares for layering over the electronic snare
I too was a bit disappointed that there's no dark mode... Especially when almost all my other plugins have dark tones...
They should sold a drum module with AD2 inside it would be dope.

We are mailing all users, but doing so in batches, it's the downside of having many users, but not wanting emails to trigger spam filters 🙂

Is it just me or have they also improved the overall sound of the kits and fx slightly? The rooms sound better and the kits sound clearer, smoother.

For a moment, I was concerned they might have tried to make it look like BFD. Luckily they didn't.

Yes, it's always recording the last thing you did, if you want to pull out a one shot sample/loop for example

i don't think they really have modern electronic drum sounds.
but I would love them to include more of those sounds!
You can tweak these drums to whatever you need them to be, really. I'd look at the Reel Machines kit!

Can you automate the beat transformer?
No but you can play a beat and record it in the vsti and I think it records changes to the transformer . Drag the midi out after it's recorded
