I visited the Oxford orphanage as it was called in the seventies when I was in high school. My best friend moved down there because her father was the chaplain for the orphanage. I was surprised to see how cool all the kids were just like the kids in high school. They had their clicks, there was a good looking group, there was the athletes, the intellects Etc. I was extremely impressed especially that my friend was pretty happy there. She was a little wild in high school to say the least which actually speaks for the orphanage. I'd always pictured an orphanage as being a strict Institution where rules were rules and that's all that counted however people, children were allowed to be themselves and of course there were rules but particularly these teenagers were very well adjusted. It was sad that they had lived there most or all of their lives but their treatment must have been pretty good for them to get to teenagehood so well prepared for the world!
