Well he's right. If not for a slaughter like this, then what is capital punishment for?
Your point is impossible to argue with.
There are people that believe capital punishment is never justified, no matter how terrible the crime committed. This juror was likely one of them.
Is abortion ever justified?

The juror who held out was not supposed to be on the jury if he/she did not believe in the death penalty. Maybe a life sentence will force Cruz into obscurity. An execution might have ended up being a huge media event with candles lit and people praying and chanting. Cruz would have loved that. This way he will just fade away with no fanfare.
What do you have to do to get the death penalty these days? Murdering 17 people isn't enough?

Our entire country needs to be overhauled. Really, if the Founding Fathers were alive today, probably over 90% of those in government would have been publicly executed for treason against the US. Jan 6 wouldn’t have happened either, if anything the Founders would have led an armed Revolution against our government long before then.
It’s shocking and very sad how few people we execute each month. 😢
I don't think one person out of 12 deciding in this one case not to execute means our entire justice system needs to be overhauled. It does need an overhaul, but certainly not because of this...

You don’t know if that one juror is 100% against the death penalty, she/he just saw one of the mitigating factors (factors that could be responsible for leading Cruz down the path to becoming a killer that were out of his control or “made” him become that way) as enough evidence to make him “less responsible” for the crimes, and therefore, in their eyes, not warranting the penalty of death. The person could be both for and against it, but in this particular case saw something in evidence that made them lean towards life in prison. If you ask me, he should have been executed the day after it happened in the most heinous and torturous way possible.

I agree with you Gov. DeSantis in every regard!
I'm the type of person who sees the cause and effect of negative actions. As a victim of the manipulators in our society, and it's sad that I must admit that there are a lot of bad people who have professional tags that do it; that use passive aggressive strategies for the purpose creating a hostile environment that exists within a safe looking one, I must voice my opinion. When they have the upper hand, they'll use their position to psychologically bully anyone who is lower on the chain, and if another employee points it out, they get rid of that person. What frustrates them the most is when they cannot incite a good person into becoming insanely angry, and no matter how much they try to deny it, when people do identify them, they feel pit pressure that sinks right directly down into the pit of their guts. Sure, no one wants to take the chance of being shot and killed, but those people who manipulate? They'd rather face that fate, or cause others to be placed in harm's way than to be identified as being the real monsters. Have you ever met people who are like that? On the surface, they want to present the "nice guy or woman" image, but when they are discovered, they crawl into their little hiding hole while screaming profanities and searching for a way out. As difficult as it might be, and as tempting as it might be to lash out, I'm the type of person who simply will not lash out directly. I'm not a dangerous person. I've never killed or harmed anyone in my entire life. My goal is expose the really truly dangerous ones in our society. You know? The ones you trust around your children. In no way, shape, form, or fashion do I agree with what Nicholas did to those children, but I do think that it could have been avoided. The solution is simple: When you see a good teacher and/or a child that is being bullied in the school system, stand up for them. If that person never becomes violent, but he/she is constantly pointing out how he/she is being attacked, and other people can see it too, then that's when we need to come to that person's defense and speak out against it ourselves, and the violators need to be fired from their position(s).

@@caseywatson4508 Well, that is how God has chosen to run things. But remember...."repent" doesn't mean just saying "sorry." It is a true admission of wrong-doing and genuinely feeling remorseful; in other words, developing a conscious. I do believe that truly evil people will not repent because they have not and never will develop a conscious, even when they stand before hell.
@@caseywatson4508 God exists and He is severe in punishment. And He does not do injustice to anyone at all.

life in prison will be a far more fitting sentence. Death let's him off easily. He will suffer in prison for decades and he will be a punk.
Tell the public, this will save lives in America. Best Dave
What is this about?
“This legal system that is not serving the victims” that line right there is why he has my vote. Dude genuinely thinks abt the victims.
You're easily influenced. DeSantis will say anything to get your vote. Keep drinking his kool-aid.
Lol he literally did kidnapping, he doesn't care about victims. This is all theater
So basically all anyone has to do is give you lip service meaning nothing and they have your vote. Guess that's why you're a Republican.
What has he done for these families exactly?
@@zacht2806 he just said he fired the board, and the sheriff and strengthened school security. Plus become friends with many of the parents.
@@zacht2806 you mean what a politician is supposed to do announce their views and changes. You just are so fed into this whole left vs right bs and it’s hilarious. Both sides are exactly the same and manipulate news to get votes. And yeah this is better than what our president rn is doing. Biden killed 17 soldiers went to their funerals and checked his watch every five minutes and ignored the families who were yelling at him for killing their kids. When u grow up and realize ur just a little follower who reads news sources like everyone else and not sum politician getting inside scoops😂 that’s gonna be amazing.
RIGHT ON!
TOTALLY AGREE
I wonder who that one holdout was. And why
the left only audio...sadge
They need to change the law regarding the death penalty…majority rules!!!!!! 😡😡😡
Ya one person that’s to much control
Nah they need to get rid of the death penalty entirely.
Its supposed to be the judge that makes that decision. Jury's just there to say who's lying and who isn't. That's the way it used to be.

Much respect 👏🏼👏🏼 to the Gov
Agree.
To pandering to his nut job base? Yeah.... that was so intellectual of him. Respect the verdict.... Wasn't that what you guys said about Rittenhouse? i don't agree with the sentence, but I respect the decission.

I agree with you on this one
Where is this? Cause it looks like he's ranting about killing a man to a bunch of children at the school library.
Imagine what those trials cost in taxe dollars. And imagine the money judges lawyers in the injustice system make ?!? It’s insane and now everyone will be force to pay for him. I am sorry if he didn’t have the best life but many of don’t and we don’t do what he did. Thank You DeSantis for being the voice for those that can’t call that out and thank you for caring for our animal families by making pet food taxe free. My only family is my dogs and birds and it means so much cause we live so much discrimination with our animals. I thought I would sleep outside with my dogs cause I couldn’t find a home that accept animals It’s disgusting and outrageous cause I payed so much child benefits for other peoples kids and yet I sleep in car while working cause I couldn’t pay the hotel when I was working out of town. That makes no sense.
Stig Same logic applies to the homeless, instead of placing them in a private shelter for $3k a night, how's about just giving them $3k a month and having a place all to themselves?
Versus the cost of a bullet I would gladly donate
Just sayin

Where the animals are concerned. I've seen the results of irresponsible pet owners, the damage, the smell, the noise. Many ppl don't rent to pet owners for the reasons mentioned and more. I don't blame those who refuse to rent to pet owners.
However, I love my pets and don't want to be separated from them. I am responsible for my pets.
Maybe someone will come up with a compromise suitable for both sides.
@@alicel3992 they already have. Pet damage insurance. But it still doesn't solve the problem of allergies and noise. Some people only rent at no pet allowed places for these reasons.
Man, DeSantis is a stand up guy.
You can say that again! We are blessed to have such a man in a position of leadership. 🐊🇺🇸
He represents what a good governor should be.
But if YOU had been accused of something, you’d hope a lengthy trial is forthcoming….go figure.
At this point just take the death penalty away, if you aren't going to use it in that case then idk what to tell you.
Condolences to the families
I'm glad he spoke on this. I'm glad I have a governor sharing his opinion on this issue. Also this is the man who's opinion I wanted to hear... In all honesty.
There seems to be one bleeding heart or person who craves attention and loves to disagree with everyone else on all of this type of jury. No amount of reasoning can penetrate their so-called minds.
