Leh War Memorial & Zorawar Fort | The Chronicles of Ladakh - Ep 44

Hall of Fame in Leh, also known as Leh War Memorial, is a museum and a war memorial built and maintained by the Indian Army to commemorate the lives of brave Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the wars with China and Pakistan in this region. It is located near the Leh airport and is hardly a 10-minute drive away from the main Leh market.
In my opinion, it is a place that every tourist must visit to pay their respect. It is a beautiful war memorial that also provides great insight into how the wars in this region were fought, the challenges our soldiers faced, knowledge about the terrain, and much more.
Zorawar Fort is an ancient fort in Leh. It was built in 1836 for General Zorawar Singh Kahluria who was a military general of Dogra ruler Gulab Singh. The fort once kept the wealth of the rulers of the Dogra dynasty and has now been turned into a museum. It is maintained by the Indian Army and is located on Skara Road, about 4 kilometers from Leh Hall of Fame.

Hi, may I ask is the Leh-Manali highway open today? I’m planning to go to the Tso Kar and pass the tanglang la. Is it possible to go to tso kar ? Or is it possible to go up to tanglang la? Where does the road closure start from if it’s closed for the leh Manali highway at which point is the starting point of closure? Thank you

Sorry for the late reply. As far as I know, Tanglang La was closed. Were you able to reach Tso Kar?
