FF12 has my favorite intro of all time. The contrasts between the joyfulness of the Newlyweds and the people’s celebrations of the marriage as well as the union between the two peaceful kingdoms..to the immediate dread and fear, the urgency of what is at stake..it’s pretty epic and expertly delivered in my opinion. That particular scene..where the few hundred volunteer troops and the Knights are standing before their people and their King, rallying to defend what they have. Rasler accepting the honor and burden of leading them all into battle. A battle that they know has little chance of victory when you consider the overwhelming force and might of the Archadian Empire..when Rasler looks over at Ashe, his bride, the woman he loves, just married and whom he knows he will likely never see again..that moment where he lifts his sword into the air and shouts defiantly against Archadia, joined together with the shouts of the doomed army..all willing to die in the hopes of saving their families and homes..it’s a very powerfully epic moment to me. FF12 has what is probably my favorite story of all the Final Fantasies. It’s a close call with FF7 story wise as to which has the most impactful and well developed story for me.

FFX was my first Final Fantasy, my dad used to play them and got it for me. I need to replay it after seeing this. Also thanks for putting these all in one spot this is awesome

The FFV intro never gets any love but I’ve always really liked it. Uematsu’s score is masterful the way it builds from serene to trouble-is-brewing to disaster and back to serene again

To me, the intro of FF7 is one of the best game intros theres ever been. It looks cool, it sounds amazing, it doesn't waste your time with a lame, 20 minute tutorial, and the setting is something unseen in so many other games. I never really liked games that had tons of greenery and what, to me, seems like the easiest kind of settings to make (your typical forested, grass-filled outdoors) and FF7 has none of that for its intro. FF7 Remake knocked it out the park with how it took that awesome intro and then enhanced it a thousand-fold. I would absolutely love to see FF6 get an FF7R-type remake ... it deserves it and also features less grassland crap. Plus, playing games where you're not playing as a king or prince or some sort of other royalty makes it easier to relate and connect to the characters. It's fine to have them in your party but I simply cannot get into a role as a spoiled rich guy. 😂

I still love FF6, 7, 8 and X the most. Haven’t played anything after FF13-2 though.
