    I didn’t buy one of these older ones because they weren’t robust enough for me. Once the upgraded version came out, I went for it and enjoyed flying with it. I do still hope for a steel version as the plastic case results in a bezel that can be accidentally bumped easily.

      I can appreciate that yes. I still wear mine. I love the tritium on them too. Thanks for the comment. The⏱👨‍⚕️

      If you haven't heard, the steel navigator is now back on Marathon's catalogue.

    Have owned a Navigator for about four years now. Given this is the watch I sleep in, it is by far my most worn watch. Nothing beats tritium tubes.

      I know. I love the lume. I remember being disappointed to hear that it “only” lasts 25 years. 😂 but what an amazing watch for the money. The⏱👨‍⚕️

    Great review , how is this watch doing ? Would this watch be ok as a everyday watch and comfortable ? I have a just under 17cm wrist

    • @thewatchdoctor
      @thewatchdoctor  3 роки тому

      Yes definitely. It’s a little small on me at 19cm so would be perfect for you. Loving it. Love the tritium tubes too. The ⏱👨‍⚕️

    Hi , does this model have a screw down crown ? I'd like to own this but unsure about the water resistance

    • @thewatchdoctor
      @thewatchdoctor  3 роки тому

      This one doesn’t no. I believe they have upped their specs though and the new one has a screw down stainless steel crown and sapphire glass. I like the authenticity of this version though. Love it. Thanks for the comment. The ⏱👨‍⚕️

    its not a 200 quid watch, if you have a link for it at that price please provide, this is actually an almost 400 bucks watch or 325 quid on marathons site, but i have seen it @240 quid in some places.

      Hi there. I think I say in the video that they’ve improved the specs on all of the models now to include sapphire glass and aluminium body. The one I reviewed did cost £180 for me on eBay but that was about a year ago. Since the spec improvement you’re right they have gone up in price but if you can scratch around and find the original fibre shell model you can still pick them up around £200. Thanks for the comment. The ⏱👨‍⚕️

      They’ve upped the spec on these quite considerably now too. Sapphire glass and steel crown. Upped the price though too. The ⏱👨‍⚕️

    I am considering the Nav and the gSAR. the main selling point is they use tridium for luminating the markers over the usual material everyone else uses "Super Luma"?
    They say Tridium isn't as bright but lasts longer...26 years for Tridium.
    Was vaguely concerned watching other review videos when thy wouldn't really show off the LUM o n the Marathon waches...you did. Must be their photography quality.
    They say "Brand X...is a good starting point " I" d say Mrathon watche are. :) Good prie and they are allegedly tested for military use. they have been used by military for decades so...Worth trying these watches...Some people get too caught up in specs...need to see through the marketing and see what DOES matter in USE. Nice to know we don't need to start our "1st good watch purchases" with a $3000 Tag :)
