Looks great, hope I'm still around in 20 years to see it. But what are the plans to reduce car parking in the town centre and to increase employment in line with population growth. The town may have many service industries but very few manufacturing companies

@Conor Keogh, Portlaoise has a mind boggling amount of surface car parking. It needs to be drastically reduced for the well being and future of the town.
I bet the average age of the people on portaloise council is over double the average age of the portaloise population. Libraries n theatres are good n all but seems kind of unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Maybe just not my jam. Pedestrianising the centre is a good idea. I'd be building central commercial office and retail with subsidized rents for new ventures and those with good employment prospects. Promotes job growth and more diverse retail to support population growth. My €0.02
