- A cold, wintery afternoon in town is the perfect time to cosy up in a window nook for a hot cup of coffee. We went to the colourful @cafearriba - it has the best view over Portree harbour and they are dog friendly too 😊🐾☕️

We stayed in a lovely B&B in Portree many years ago, I remember the owners neighbour met us & showed us our room, she said the owner was working in Portree & would be home later in day & just to make ourselves at home! We were terrified to leave the house as her windows were all wide open & no keys to lock up! When she did arrive home she was more shocked that we had stayed in & house sat…😂

Stayed on Skye in the mid nineties and one of the highlights was seeing Donnie Munro from Runrig in Portree!
I've never been to Scotland but Runrig are my favourite band, play their music all the time 😊

I'm coming over from Northern Ireland in a few weeks time for 4 or 5 days photography around Skye as a treat for myself for my 50th birthday. So looking forward to it. Researching Skye was how i came across your first video the day after you released it and i have enjoyed following along ever since

Coffee looks good. I remember being in Portee a few years ago having a drink with the wife when all of a sudden these girls with highland dress walked in and started doing highland dancing. I said to the wife that they will be local girls....they came from Easterhouse in Glasgow. 😂

Our little Canadian granddaughter is named Skye after this island. Sure she'll visit some day. Older sister is Isla. I believe Islay is also beautiful. We live in Scotland and have only been over the sea to Skye once in 1979. Have holidayed right up the West Coast though. Durness on the Northern coast was beautiful and desserted too.❤

Coming to Portree in 3 weeks for our first trip to Skye. Fingers crossed for dry weather
Hope so! But… would be advised to bring waterproofs, as the weather is very unpredictable here.

Go stay at Camus cross just outside brodford there's a hotel right next to the pub and the peer it's beautiful I've lived in Camuscross definitely most beautiful place I've ever stayed so peaceful 😍😍😍😍😍

My wife went to Portree while some friends and I climbed the only Munro I’ve ever climbed, Bla Bheinn. It was the boggy walk to the start of the climb that put her off. This was back in the early 90s. I still haven’t made it to Portree! I highly recommend the climb, it wasn’t massively hard and the views were stunning.
Thanks for the suggestion. We climbed Blaven before we started the channel, but we’re planning on going there and filming it for the channel when the weather calms a bit. 🙂
@@livingtheskyelife I prefer your way of spelling Blaven! Much easier. We went up in April and the summit was still capped in snow, it was a long time ago now but it was one of those experiences you just don't forget.

We are visiting Skye next month and are from the U.S. We have booked two nights in Portree so, where would you suggest us to have a good seafood dinner? Thanks. Paula
We haven’t been to many restaurants in Portree yet - we usually get fish & chips when we are there! There’s a really good chippy on the road down to the harbour 😊 Otherwise for seafood, the Oyster Shed near Carbost is good for lunch and we’ve had great seas food at the Plockton Inn which is back on the mainland, but not far from the Skye bridge 👍

Sarah, unless you’re doing this intentionally for artistic effect, you do realize when you take video with your iPhone that you should put it in landscape or sideways view to avoid getting the black bars on the side ,don’t you? When you hold your iPhone straight up, you get the black bars… anyway I know Portree well , we stayed at the Rosedale Inn in Portree for four days and three nights on our trip in October
