Fun, fun! May i recommend putting egg shells in blender. A friend told me that they may acquire taste and peck their own eggs. I have 5 hens and save mine up and blend then put in compost. Thanks for sharing

Your chickens look happy for the new custom feature in their home. I know someone who used to purchase a big bag of chicken compost for their garden. 🐔 🐔

They’re really enjoying themselves! This week we’re going to add a section with a metal roof/covering to give them some more shade from rain and sun. 😁

Thank you! I know there are more complex options out there but we like to shoot for as simple as possible - and then upgrade if needed 😆

Chicken wire is designed to keep chickens in, not keep predators out. Might want to reinforce with weld wire or hardware cloth.

Thank you! We are aware, and while we originally planned to use hardware cloth for this run (our previous run was hardware cloth) we ended up needing to keep cost down this time. The coop (where they sleep) is hardware cloth though. We haven’t had any daytime predator issues so far. Our dogs do a good job. If we have any issues we will replace it with hardware cloth. Thanks for the comment!
