I am unable to put into words, except of all the documentaries I have seen on the Hagia Sophia, yours is by far the most interesting because you show it like a regular person would see it. I am disabled from a work-related accident so I will never get to see the Hagia Sophia in person, but this is the next best thing. Thank you!!

Very interesting, "The cathedral was originally built as a Greek Orthodox church which lasted from 360 AD until the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottoman Empire in 1453. It served as a mosque until 1935, when it became a museum. In 2020, the site once again became a mosque." (Wiki) Your video of Hagia Sophia is wonderful and the music you chose is perfect for your video.

Really a beautiful presentation. Gave me a few shivers! It is sad the building has been disrespected so much throughout its life, and the others destroyed all together.

I feel that I went on vacation with the wonderful Sheekoz Family! the Hagia Sophia was beyond beautiful. I especially love how you took time to touch the walls. This was exactly what I did when I was in Italy at the Colosseum and other ancient wonders. To put your hands on thousands of others who left their mark is unexplainable. I just love your compassion for the homeless as well. You and your family are just what this world needs more of. Wishing you love from Michigan!

And that Lunch looks fantastic as well. That bread reminds me of Pita or Nan bread over here, both are baked in clay ovens I think. Looks great, wish I could taste those dishes. So much in one video, and thank you Dan, for helping that homeless man, you are wise my friend. You even got the air travel on the video as well. What a trip!

Speechless🥹, thank you for taking us to such beautiful places that I’d never get to see unless you did. Big hugs and so much❤️love to you all. It makes me sad that no one takes the time to make such stunning workmanship anymore, we just make boxes as fast as they can. The people who had the skills and creativity to make such amazing buildings weren’t supported so the skills have died with them.
I am so happy that you are able to travel and see such a different type of world, I hope you get to keep going🙏🏼🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

Istanbul used to be known as Constantinople, the mosques you see now we’re Christian churches temples, in the Byzantine empire, for some reason the Muslims did not destroy the pictures of Christ , it is interesting to visit Istanbul , the people who are there are very nice. But the sales people are almost as bad as in Rome ,

@@max420thc They did not destroy the golden Byzantine mosaics of Jesus and Mary, but they were covered in plaster for hundreds of years. Ataturk, who worked at modernizing and secularizing Turkey proclaimed the Haigia Sophia as a museum, and they started the laborious process of uncovering the beautiful Byzantine mosaics on the walls. Thank goodness for Ataturk, or they would still be covered.

I was wondering why there was a Christian church in a Muslim country. I saw the mosaics and I thought it was Christian. I know that Muslims acknowledge Jesus and his mother Mary, for it’s in the Koran, and I appreciate that they didn’t destroy those beautiful artifacts.

How many mosques are there in Greece for Muslims who have lived for 500 years? you should thank the turks for protecting such monuments.. they keep animals in mosques in all countries where the turks have withdrawn
