Looks realistic to me. My consumption in real life on 2 stretches of 400km was 21kWh/100km. Cruise control set to 130 (fixed, so 4km/h less than you) and adhered to all regulations (construction, 100km/h zones, etc). I probably had larger portions of construction on my way - the modern reality in Germany…
Thanks for doing this type of test. For someone who needs to use a motorway every day to get to work it’s really useful to know what sort of consumption to expect.
This gives hope, that the i4 with a slightly bigger battery and better aerodynamic could average under 20 kwh/100km which would mean 400km with a single charge. That would be awesome!

This is how range tests should be done. Makes it easy to understand. Not some mix highway, mix city mumbo jumbo. Thanks!
This is important test to show us what the range is when it counts. One thing that would be even better would be to do the test in the middle of winter with the heating and windscreen wipers on. This would tell us how far we can travel within a day, allowing for charging etc. The time that I care about range is when I have to make a long journey, then try to get back home again that night. By the way those bugs are a healthy sign, often I have driven through France and hardly had any, that is a sign of too many pesticides.
It really is a very efficient car, even if it’s build on an ICE platform, I hope the iX can build on that. If the updated iX3 gets a slight upgraded battery maybe it will push me over the edge to trade in my Hybrid
The iX3 has the same Gen5 drive as the iX and i4. So the same efficiency.
Why would someone buy a hybrid. It's like picking the worst of both worlds lol

Why no AC on? This is unrealistic, despite slightly more variability in comaprin vehicle to vehicle results

@@abraxastulammo9940 A/C = air conditioning pump with higher consumption compared to ventilation only.
@@karl-heinzoehling483 At +-21 ambient temperature the A/C won't do anything anyway.
@@abraxastulammo9940 The air conditioning pump is electrically driven and always supplies the air conditioning circuit. Even if there is no temperature cooling, the electric pump needs at least 0.2-0.4kW power for air dehumidification. That is significantly higher than a medium ventilation level without A/C.
