At a certain point, I just stopped caring about the murder and just waited for Rosie's next outburst. This was class, and she needs to be given her own series!
Oh my god. Imagine Jon and Sully as investigators in a Call of Cthulhu campaign. "Listen, Jon, I don't care if the thing DOES have 37 eyes and speaks with the voice of your dead grandmother, if you can't shoot it, you're off the case!" Add in Chaos Incarnate Rosie, that party's going to go mad.
I most certainly need a game of CoC with these wonderful people.
Either CoC or DnD, Laurie or Tom as DM or Keeper, imagine how much chaos would unfold
Thanks to Rosie I will never look at a steamed bun the same ever again. I will always think huh wonder if a murderer is eating a steamed bun right now in the bathroom.

More and more, I just want to see a Jon and Sully spin-off show. They play off each other so well.
I'm binge watching these old videos & your comment feels so much spot on considering the future videos especially the cosmic encounters!! Sully marrying & divorcing John (in Cosmic Encounter) are one of my most favourite NRB moments!!

I see you didn't invite Issac, as you didn't want him to solve it in round 1.
Another excellent edition of BGC. Compared to the original Deception playthrough I think this follow up really displayed the chaotic brilliance of having additional accomplice and witness roles.
Watching Adam and Jon get steadily more and more tense (well Jon was actually at a stress max after round one!) was a joy to behold.

Not sure if you can play it online, but you really need to get Rosie and Sully to play Gloom - the way those too go on tangents would be brilliant in that game
I actually just came across Gloom and was really intrigued by it, randomly enough....well I saw the sequel on Kickstarter but that caused me to look up the original lol
@@mathewcox9371 If you look up the playthrough on Wil Wheaton's TableTop on here (with Amber Benson from Buffy) it does a good job showing off the game at its simplest. They ignore some rules about hand sizes on cards and just let it be a structure for riffing a story, and I love that - it has enough of a game at the core that for people who are intimidated by full on improvisation, they've got a solid thing (the card text) to jump off from. I suspect that Adam might find a bit too limiting, I think he enjoys the full on improv of something like Snake Oil, but a game like that is probably too much for me.

Another brilliant Board Game Club video, legit the highlight of my Friday nights at the minute. I've rewatched the moment where Sully reveals his guilt at least five times, because..
A) His laugh is bloody joyous
B) Adam's reaction is GOLD

@@EmmaBonn96 She didn't know it was Sully, though, she only knew it was either Sully or Brooke. If she'd gone after both Sully AND Brooke she would have been even more obvious, so I guess she picked only Brooke to go after. 🤷♂️

That's it. I cracked the case at just 15:19. You see... you can suffocate somebody with a wrench. By hiding it when they eat the steam bun then shoving it down their throats!

Also, if you ever open up a P.O. Box for fan-gifts please make sure to check it often as there's sure to be steam buns in there for Rosie.

I caught Sullivan playing by myself, but it was all metagaming with my limited knowledge of him. He was just so darn quiet compared to his other BGC appearances.

Like a private but for the navy would be more accurate. Ensign is as real a rank as Admiral or Captain in the navy. I'm not sure (been ages since I've seen or read anything Star Wars related), but I think they refer to themselves as the Imperial "Navy". Which is par for the course for most fleets and armadas comprising of space crafts in Science Fiction.
And besides, you can't say Ensign without everyone thinking about the undisputed, most liked, charismatic and revered character in all of Star Trek; Ensign Wesley Crusher.
Great time as usual! Will say Blair picking bathroom while towel and drown is out there, locked the game on Laurie the entire time. Her decision was a better defense then anything Sully or Brooke did. That being said, loved the game and the cast
I’m gonna buy this game and try to get my friends to play it this weekend. Both episodes for Deception have been tons of fun!

To be fair, Rosie didn't know if it was the metal wire or the metal chain, she just knew that either Brooke or Sullivan were the murderer. So at that point it was a cointoss.
@@Schilani Ah, I guess that's true, but Laurie could have entertained the possibility a little more. Did Brooke even have a plausible second piece of evidence?
This game is next on my to-buy list and I know my friends will absolutely love it.

If strangulation wasn't a cause of death choice this was very hard to get metal wire in there when I see suffocation I don't think metal wire
Board Game Club must have lots of meetings to change the first rule of Board Game Club every week.
Will we ever see Cosmic Encounter on Board Game club? It's available on tabletop simulator, along with an insane amount of other games that you may not be able to play virtually without it. Think it would be a smart investment for a board game channel. Keep up the great work y'all!
A little bit off topic, but today was the release of Unmatched Chapter 1 in Germany and I finally get why it was Adam's game of the year. Played it like 6 times today and I still want to go again

Picture this
Our victim comes home
After a long day
At work
They work a night shift
So it’s morning
They decide
I’m gonna run a bath
When
Suddenly
The murderer breaks into the house
And drowns them in the bath
They scratch and claw with their fingernails but they can’t break free because of how thin and weak they are. And they end up suffocating.
A witness can see the action of drowning through the bathroom window.
Oh, Adam's face at 1:13:12 is so good, the utter betrayal!

Eight adults playing this game, and somehow, not even the person who gave out the clues, knows about snaking a drain. Which is why I was 100% convinced that's why she gave out bathroom from the start of the game.

Haha Adams reaction to Sully being the killer and sully's evil laugh was very funny I came over to no rolls barred from the wrestletalk and partsfunknown channels because I heard about the legend that was Sully.
And after seeing him on Quizzlemania and being thoroughly entertained I had to come over no rolls barred and see more Sully videos I've watched a few already secret Hitler part 1 and 2 and both games of deception.

My theory upon seeing the first round clues: A thin worker with *dirt* on his person from having worked during a night shift goes to the _bathroom_ to wash his dirty hands before going home in the morning. At this moment a witness sees *Rosie* perform the _action_ of pouring gasoline and striking a match, committing *arson* that causes the victim to die from _suffocation_ due to the smoke.
why did nobody explain to jon that humans use hairpins when they work?

Such a good game. I'm planning on getting it, but I saw that there's 2 exclusive roles not included in the expansion or base game called the Consulting Detective and the Clever Accomplice. Are these worth it?
From this point forth all games should include Adam, Sully, Blair, Jon and Rosie because they are genuinely constant entertainment. Once this is the case I will truely "Get On Board"
All that I could think about for the metal wire and the hair in the bathroom with death by suffocation was the way that the friend died in Final Destination.
What started as a throwaway thought has made me seriously think about a Transformers version of this game.
