What people don’t realise is that the polar wash you should agitate it with a wash mitt. But people don’t seem to realise that. So they say it’s just crap. But if you follow the instructions it really isn’t.

I have been using Bilthamber as pre-wash and then after blasting it off after dwelling, giving the car a second blast of Bilt Hamber and doing the contact wash with it, works superbly! :)

Do the same now when I clean. To me it's really slippery so adds that feeling of preventing scratches when contact washing. I like to soak my wash mitt in their auto wash shampoo

Me too Pete and I've tried the others. Bilt hamber auto foam is also cheaper per wash when brought in 5l, mixed correctly and applied correctly. I suppose I use 300 ml of mixed solution per car (150ml of autofoam per car)

I have used both. I’m not 100% sold on snow foams as a cleaner but I appreciate the extra lubricity when contact washing. It must capture and suspend some amount of dirt, and so I would assume that in the long run it will reduce swirling.

    • @KRBY555

thats what I do. Initially I thought they were a a dream product. There is a (thai?) dude on here that tests them all as just a foam/rinse product. Even the best is weak. The play is to foam, and use that as your base to handwash.

  • @TristanJCumpole
    @TristanJCumpole 5 місяців тому

Great video! I've watched a few this morning, and it states everything as straight as can be. My understanding of these foaming pre-wash cleaners is that they lift the abrasive particles that might otherwise scratch the paintwork during a more thorough physical wash. I get that a lot of people think that foam is more exciting, but is it necessary? Yes and no. Yes inasmuch as any light pre-wash is necessary, but no as in does it clean more thoroughly.

I love the color and smell of meguiar's ultimate snow foam !. And 👍 for coating maintenance !.(170ml in 830ml water!), On the other hand if I need a slightly more aggressive shampoo, I add 50ml of apc or super degreaser 👌
For those who leave it in the cold and pieces that form in it, leave the bottle in hot water, the shampoo will return to normal. Where to leave it at home warm !.
In 1:20 it also makes a good clay lube. Because good lubrication

I've tried these before watching John's review. These are both expensive and poor performing - neither of these products are nowhere near as good as Bilt-Hamber Auto Foam. That is a excellent cleaner, degreaser, cheaper (34p per wash) and includes anti-corrosion properties. I can't understand why either of these would warrant any kind of recommendation.

I agree completely about foaming cars. I rarely do it when washing my cars. Only time I do it is typically for reviews or for stripping waxes. It’s a pain plus cleanup after wards sucks. While drying the car foam always ends up coming out of somewhere because it gets in every crack and crevice. I like the testing you did showing their cleaning abilities that was cool. Great video

I used the AG snowfoam and honestly its not as good as Autobrite Magifoam (yes I know there is a caustic component in there, but still). I feel as though the magifoam helps the shampoo take off that much more dirt than the AG.
I also feel like I have to pre-wash the pre-wash with surfex for it to get anywhere close to the magifoam.
I honestly didn't like the polar wash (used as a spray on). I felt it disappeared to quickly, I felt I was rushing around the car once the shampoo was on there, and feel it didn't do as good a job as the ol' Bilt Hamber shampoo.
Other than that I would recommend the AG polar blast if you were stuck using off the shelf Halfords products, but not the AG Polar wash or the AG Polar sealant.
I'd be interested in a comparison between the AG polar wash and the Halfords own brand wash and wax.

John, it was great to meet you at Goodwood recently. I was the guy with the black M140i (with the dented bumper).
Anyway, it was ace driving round with you, loads of fun!
Car has been repaired and it now sports the Remus, carbon splitter, spacers and Bilstein dampers. The dampers have been such a night and day transformation!!
Be great to catch up on track again or if theres a ride out, let me know!

I wonder if water hardness can effect how snowfoams react, because we have very soft water up here in Scotland and Autobrites Magifoam, and this is only going by your video, is the most foaming snowfoam I have every used, its seriously its far foamier that your video with the Meguiars.

    • @ForensicDetailing

if on a budget do with the in2detailing brand snow foam gun. The fact you call it a canon makes me think you are in america. If your in the USA and want the best get the MTM canon and buy it from matt at obsessed garage. if your on a budget go to Ali express and put in snow foam lance and buy the cheapest one with the correct attachment for you pressure washer.

I have been using the snow foam detergent that came with my lance, once thats used up I'll be switching to the Bilt Hamber auto foam as I love their products, have litres of korrosol and auto wheels on hand as they work so well at lifting the iron off the body and wheels and the double speed paste wax is very nice as well, easy to apply and last a decent amount of time.

Hi, I know I have mentioned before about autosmart snow foam of which you believe is too expensive but I have done my calculations and it works out at 35p per wash, is that really expensive compared to others, looking forward to your thoughts. On top of this with out a doubt its the thickest snow foam on the market and the shine it leaves after micro fibre cloth is amazing.

Great review - informative and on point! :)
Can I ask your advice? I am a Funeral Director and generally we wash and chamois the hearse and limos after every outing to keep them looking sharp for our clients and the funerals that we attend. Currently this is done with the traditional bucket and sponge method, but more recently I am considering investing in a snow lance. Does this actually speed things up? and bearing in mind that there is usually only a light covering of road dust on the motors do products like the polar blast remove all the dirt so that we can just chamois off, or would we still have to contact wash with a product such as polar wash??? Just thinking of how we can speed things up to get home!!!
    Cheers

Welcome sir. snow foam lance is essential. you should also get quick connect trigger for your karcher.

Dont dry the car with a chamois ralph. prewash your funeral car with Bilt Hamber Touchless prewash at 3-4% PIR. rinse off the prewash to remove 99% of the dirt film. then you can put your shampoo in the lance again and foam the car and gently wipe it. dont use a sponge. Use a chenille nooble mitt. trust me Ive tested them for magazine articles in ways only a complete sad idiot would test them. chennile noodle mitt. have a rinse bucket with water to clean the mitt after a few passes. Of just use a bucket with shampoo in it, it its really hot because foaming the car for a contact wash can incresase risk of soap stains. rinse off car. Use a warp knitt drying towel. watch all those videos I sent a link for above.
You should "glaze" your car often. Get a product called autofinnese TRipple, or poorboyz black hole. these are AIO. spread over a panel alloy a few mins to haze and buff off. Use with DA polishing on low speed really. stay tuned I show you how I use them on my black car to maintain flawless show finish. welcome to the start of a deep addiction to detialing. throw away the chamois. your about to take one hell of an UPGRADE!

I dont think the Americans get it tbh, most of the chemical guys videos they foam the car and then contact wash it.
Most of the "detailing" in the uk we use snow foam as a pre wash and just rinse it off. How bad is it to foam a car and contact wash it. I love some of the American products but I dont think the americans just get the point of the pre wash.

I like to snow foam the car, wash it off then spray snow foam on a panel and contact wash it. BH auto foam has a good amount of slipperiness which I think helps in preventing you scratching the paint. I like to use a wash mitt with auto wash soaked in

it can do yes.. longer hose can reduce pressure and flow rate as the mains water pressure has to work harder.. but as long as you can supply you machine with XXXX amount of water per minute you are fine... (check what XXX per minute is for your machine)
