aha, Nicole this was an awesome video, and an awesome experience! It is crazy that you have almost 20k followers! keep up the hard work! Thank you for inviting Ky and I to be a part of your group! Still gonna send it, lol.
Congrats. Great opportunity and adventure. You're very cute too. You and so many kids like you make hopes for a bright future within reason. Best of luck.
Hi I was invited to the ISLP of medicine in science in Australia and am really considering going. I found your video and wants to know more about you thoughts on the trip/ was it worth the cost?
Jessica Boyce Hi there! Personally I think the trip was absolutely worth it! I met the most incredible people that have become really close friends of mine. I also had a wonderful mentor that really inspired us during the trip. I went on the business program so the layout might be a little different, but I also met some med kids and they had nothing but good things to say about their experience. If you have the financial means then I say don't let this opportunity pass!
Yeah the tuition is definitely a bit pricey, but I do know that there are both scholarship and financial aid opportunities you can look into. I chose to raise money through GoFundMe and it really helped in lowering the out-of-pocket cost. Like I said above, I really recommend the program so if you're able to figure out the finances then I definitely think it's worth the experience. If you have any specific questions I am happy to help :)
I purchased my ticket on my own (since my dad had some miles I could use), which worked out fine. I even met a few girls during my layover that were on the program as well. After registering, they will give you details on what specific times you should schedule your arrival; if you follow that accordingly then there is no problem with purchasing the tickets yourself. The program will have a bus waiting for you at the airport and you're bound to run into other students when you arrive.
Okay glad to here it was worth the price! Did you know anyone signing up? Also did you do the extension/ would you recommend it? Was it hands on learning or a lot of listening to people talk about the subject?
Hi there! Everyone receives the same article/topic to research on, and at the beginning of the trip you form groups to work on the presentations with. The presentations can seriously be anything, as long as it somehow involves or associates to the topic you were provided. Some groups did skits, presented app ideas, and even startup plans; it really depends on what direction your group wants to go with it. Your mentor will help you along the way. It's not a huge part of the trip's focus so you won't have to worry too much about it.
were you on scholarship for the trip? I was invited and am considering going this year, it sounds like the opportunity of a lifetime, that is of course if I receive the scholarship.
I didn't actually get a scholarship so I had to pay the full price, but with some help from friends and family I was able to raise a good amount of money for the trip!
oh hey. its my place. to bad ur not in summer. barely anyone is. also. Sydney and Melbourne are entirely different from the rest of australia. many aussie who have traveled will tell u that. maybe because they have more tourists than most other places. but basically its like comparing civilised people to..... well.... us really. we have more aussie words. also where i live is hotter XD.
i loved the weather! it was a good change of pace since its summer for us haha. regardless of the difference i loved australia, definitely wished i could've stayed longer to explore
