- Seeing the New Year's Eve fireworks in Sydney Harbour is certainly a bucket list item. Well Don and I checked it off and we did it on a boat! Come with us as we jump on a Captain Cook charter and take in all that Sydney Harbour has to offer. Happy New Year's.

That has to be the cleanest, most organized convenience store I’ve ever seen!
They are all like that in Sydney! Lol coincidentally I went to that exact one 3 months ago when I stayed at the same hotel as Tony and Don.
They aren't like this elsewhere?
Notice the sign on the door asking customers to wear a mask. No one in the store was wearing one. I wonder 30 years from now how many signs will be left up?
@@swisstroll3 Yeah, it's a old sign. There is no indoor mask requirement unless it's a hospital or retirement home.
Yeah, I gotta say - everything in the states looked a bit shabby compared to Sydney - but I really only flew into LA, out of San Fran, saw around Orange county & La Jolla - but was mostly in San Diego & Fashion valley

It made me cry, I’m from Sydney and currently in Seattle ☃️ isn’t it a wonderful city and the new years fireworks definitely a big bucket list. Have been extremely fortunate to have done it lots of times form our boat on the harbour. Your description of filling your heart ♥️ is so true.

I am a Sydney girl too, born and bred. I now live in Brisbane, so not as far from 'home' as you are, but I miss Sydney a lot. I would never move back though, it is way too expensive! Cheers
Ah Sydney. Lived there for six or seven years and never made it to the New Years Eve fireworks. I don't like crowds. Looks spectacular though. Glad you got to enjoy it. 😀
I'm only near Centennial Park and watching this made me tear up too - & I was watching from Star City on the night 🤦🤣🎆
@@xDRAGONSTARx you get what you pay for 🤣 I cruised up to Brisbane at the new International Cruise Terminal in November and I wouldn't get off the ship. It was terrible! Now I've got 4 months of consecutively cruising P&O, & Princess, NZ twice, Great Barrier Reef twice, Conflict Islands & Fiji...I've really taken to Sydney as my Home Port, & every day I go out & enjoy the City, the Harbour, Bondi junction or Oxford Street & all our great Parks, Art Galleries & Museums
I made sure to watch it live on TV this morning and thought about what an awesome time you and Don must be having. An experience of a lifetime!🎉. Happy New Year! 🍾🎊🥂

The pedestrian crossing light "clicker" sound is for the disabled (blind, etc). They can hear it and know it's safe to cross. I enjoyed your vlog. Happy New Year!
Tony, you unknowingly passed a Sydney ledgend, Danny Lim at minute 5:15. The gentleman with signs around him. If you are lucky enough to see him again he would be glad to chat to you! Very famous for his love of humanity.

Honestly, this year's fireworks were absolutely amazing, the consistency of colors and shapes just dazzled the eyes. Those in charge seemed to have a high level of experience in selecting and arranging fireworks.👍🌹🎊🎉
The rainbow waterfall off the bridge was amazing! I think that's the first time they've done a fireworks waterfall in a color other than yellow/gold. Super pretty! Sydney's NYE fireworks have new surprises every year. ❤
@@Erizedd I had a friend with a yacht - it really does change every year according to the theme - I actually started getting too lazy to go out because we'd be out from the morning until past 1am. There wasn't as much projections, lasers & music as previous years either

Fireworks don’t impress me, usually because nobody can do them as well as Disney. THESE BLEW ME AWAY!! There is no comparison!! I teared up for you, I was so happy you were able to see that in person! Thank you for taking me along. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I live in Sydney, and have been to both Disneyland & Disneyworld. Hands down Australia, Sydney in particular, has firework displays nailed. Glad Tony and Don got to also enjoy the show.
Sydney always does the really underwhelming 9pm display to set low expectations for the midnight display - which then completely overwhelms you!
It's the scale of the Sydney fireworks the impresses me. That is quite a large area compared to say the London display.

You absolutely should try to still see it live sometime in future - no fireworks like it in the world! Plus every year it's different with new fireworks and surprises that they haven't had before. One family takes care of the entire fireworks and has for years, and they spend the whole year designing it and coming up with new ideas. 🙂

That was so exciting to see the fireworks over the bridge! Australia is one of my Triple A's that I want to see in my life, another 1 is Alaska which I've been to and we are going back this summer on another cruise. The other A is for Austria for the castles. The triple A Countries they had been on my bucket list since I was 16.

Sydney has higher average rainfall than London. And 2022 was a record-breaking year for rain. Horrified Sydneysiders have been complaining about the appearance of mould.

Reminds me of Riverfest over Labor Day weekend on the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Newport KY with all the boats out and the huge fireworks show. Used to go out on our friend's boat every year when we lived in Cincy.

My home town!! There is NOTHING like New Years Eve on Sydney Harbour. The harbour is the perfect backdrop for the fireworks display. I am glad you have enjoyed your time there!!
I see you enjoy Pepsi Max. Not sure if you drink Coke, but I have many friends from America and they have all said that Coca-Cola tastes so much better in Australia. This is because we make ours with Sugar Cane and in the USA it is made with Corn Syrup. My friend who lives in Sacremento regularly orders Coke from here and has it shipped to her!
