I have listened to the original and many terriffic covers,of this song, but this version is superb. Outstanding harmony plus probably the best lead I have ever heard. Glorious accapella.
Its crazy to think that in ~30 years a lot of doo-wop will start to turn 100 years old. I will be in my 50s listening to what will then be 100 year old music. When in my head, "100 year old music" will still make me think Romantic era.
I'm currently 18 and I grew up listening to this amazing music and I cannot believe the times when REAL music was around is going to end without my age group knowing what real music was like.
so they came to my school on the day of my birthday and instead of singing happy birthday they sang this song, and of course i couldnt resist my tears and I started crying. it was so beautiful
These guys are amazing singers and amazing people. They've been helping my a capella/ doo wop group so much as we try to get recognized in the community. They've offered singing opportunities, song arrangements, and advice. They are AWESOME!
I could listen to this over and over and over again, and HAVE. I've not listened to or watched another group that lifted me like this song and the performers do.
I remember the first time I heard these guys. Fourteen years ago I was in Job Corps and found them by accident. Reminded me of all the times I listened to Doo Wop with my late grandfather. Even though i was unable to finish my music degree and went another direction, their performances on UA-cam have inspired me to keep looking for local guys to form a group of my own. Amazing talent and showmanship. I am glad they are keeping Doo Wop alive.
Upon seeing the title couldn't help but think of _Married with Children_ lol 😄 But wow, that was amazing. Love that lead singer's voice and tone. Reminds me of Frankie Valli. I'm so in love with this performance. Nothing short of breathtaking 😍
These guys are just astronomical. I could and HAVE listened to this song over and over again. They are especially talented because they sing a capella. BRAVO!!! Alley Cats. You da' BEST!!! LOVE YOU!!!
CaptainWafflez: I think that he tends to sing with the modern tendency to stretch notes unnecessarily. This ruins the vintage aspect of the song. He needs to listen closely to Gene Chandler's original recording. His falsetto is rather good though.
I have a 1989 video of a Doo Wop Society (LA) show that my group, The Volcanos did with a dozen other vocal groups - including The Alley Cats. We were both brand new acts, and eventually, The Volcanos packed it in. But, The Alley Cats are still cranking out the hits. I was able to get Mando (the lead singer on Duke of Earl) a copy of the video. The Alley Cats are a class act.
I was a former student a Towers Elementary about seven years ago and I remember this band coming to our school! I love these guys, I used to jive to their music! Most of the kids nowadays that went to my school have forgot about the Alley Cats! Not me! (Actually, I just remembered them.) :)
never heard of these guys, got to this video searching for BBC Darts Theme tune, to Darts - Duke of Earl and finally at this (gotta love You Tube hopping) and I'm totally astounded by them, the guy thats singing gives me goose bumps with his vocals. Fantastic !!
Fabulous. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who didn't live through the 50s that likes this music. I'm 40. I've been listening to this since I was 11. My dad got me into it.
Royce Reynolds (bass) doesn't miss a beat. Very impressive. What's even more impressive is they started in 1987! I honestly thought they were in the late 20's or early 30's! Great music guys, and continue to rock on.
You should see them in person! They have a great personality and really engage the audience in every song. Also, look for them on the PBS special called "Rock, Pop and DooWop." They sing back-up for Jay Black (Jay and the Americans) on "Cara Mia" and several other songs. AWESOME!
I'd like to say the same about you. It took just one glance of that gorgeous hair of yours, and those eyes that can just melt a heart from the inside out and make it skip a beat as soon as my eyes fell upon yours, those lips of yours I can't even find all the words to explain how deliciously soft and biteable juicy they look to me angel darling
I have heard this song from countless groups. This by far vocally out in front of them all. I have heard that the Alley Cats now back up Jay Black. On one of the Pittsburgh shows they were excellant.
I, absolutely, adore this!! -33 I not only love the song, talent, voices, performance, sound, tone etc. but I love how in the song how 'ooo I'm gonna love you' is sung. It's like-"I am going to LOVE you!!" like full out, not holding back, POWERful and true, LOVE!! :)
I just love this, guys!! so nice eto see younger people carrying on the songs. i was waiting for the music to come in, but you didn't need it!! it actually made me cry.
Amazing my soul heart and peace takes over please never stop so happy I'm not black sheep loving this era would done anything live it and better even meet a man shares passion and love way I do...💯💜🤗😍😘
I have listened to the original and many terriffic covers,of this song, but this version is superb. Outstanding harmony plus probably the best lead I have ever heard. Glorious accapella.
So encouraging to see people my age (30's) and younger doing Doo Wop. I hope this style of music never goes out of style.
It wont
People will always want great tunes that they can sing along with.
I've seen them live when I was a kid and I gotta say there definitely the best doo woop band 🙌
Its crazy to think that in ~30 years a lot of doo-wop will start to turn 100 years old. I will be in my 50s listening to what will then be 100 year old music. When in my head, "100 year old music" will still make me think Romantic era.
Man, 13 seconds into it....that bass voice is amazing! Love this rendition.
Man this never gets old to me. Awesome voices all around!
This is one of the best performances of this song that I've ever heard!
Best version of this song that I have ever heard. Lead singer blows the roof off this
I'm currently 18 and I grew up listening to this amazing music and I cannot believe the times when REAL music was around is going to end without my age group knowing what real music was like.

Just a fantastic rendition. The lead singer is tremendous. I think this is the best version I have ever heard.
Vocally the best version that I have ever heard.
John Goodman's was better.
I’m 41 and I still appreciate this hands-down you can’t go wrong with the oldies but goodies and I was raised in Billy Joel also
These guys are good at singing these 50's and 60's songs. They also came to my school too. Keep it up guys! :)
Why have I slept on doowop for so long? This is where it’s at, THIS is what’s happenin. Nothing comes close
I've been addicted to this group for years, it's one of the best Doo Wop's I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
Nice! Really not easy to sing like this without music! Well done!
check out that flame shirt & goatee on that man in his 40s. go hard.
My mom is friends with him
Guy Fieri wishes
i wish talent like this was aired on radio stations!
I could listen to this over and over and over again, and HAVE. I've not listened to or watched another group that lifted me like this song and the performers do.
Oh. My. GOD. That is one of the most beautiful basses I have ever heard.
Nice job guys, thought it was to fast at first, but over all one of the better versions of the single.
As a low bass i have to say that i love this bass so much.
Gene would be proud of that performance. Simply awesome

I cant get enough bass, ever. It's so delicious
I truly enjoyed this group. It took me back to the old times. A great rendition of the song. The base is outstanding and the lead too.

It gets no better than this!

These guys are just astronomical. I could and HAVE listened to this song over and over again. They are especially talented because they sing a capella. BRAVO!!! Alley Cats. You da' BEST!!! LOVE YOU!!!
Mind blowing... can't get enough of this...
Whoever sings the lead is an absolutely great singer
CaptainWafflez: I think that he tends to sing with the modern tendency to stretch notes unnecessarily. This ruins the vintage aspect of the song.
He needs to listen closely to Gene Chandler's original recording. His falsetto is rather good though.
@@heli-crewhgs5285 I thought it was a nice mix of 60s doowop and modern tones
It gives me a feeling of what it might sound like if Bruno Mars and SilkSonic covered it.

Very nice contemporary styling of Gene Chandler`s great classic.Excellent group!
