Just a quick note: We incorrectly credited the 7" single cover for "Homebound" to long time Enslaved collaborator Truls Espedal. It was actually created by the amazing Brazilian graphic artist Marcelo Vasco! Truls Espedal's work: instagram.com/trulsespedal/?hl=en Marcelo Vasco's work: www.p2rdesign.com/
Ruun might be my favourite album simply because its the one that I experienced in full before any other album and constantly come back to. In Times might be their greatest achievement in terms of just pure objective quality and a clear and concise example of exactly where Enslaved has come from and where they're going. Their discography is truly monumental and every release is simply excellent in it's own way.
I am an old metal head and was really into the thrash scene of the 80s 5:04 and other more expiremental stuff celtic frost and candlemass as well. Then as time went on drifted away and during the 90s got into prog and inducstrial. Fast forward to 2003. Was really bored with music decided to check out the current metal scene. Checked out metal mags and one band got high praise Enslaved. Picked up Isa based on a review. Having never been into black metal. Isa was a challenge but by the third full listen was in love. I missed a couole rekeases dueto sime heavy personaloroblems. But got bang into enslaved on the m album. Best metal band have been on board for the ride and never looked back.
Yeah Enslaved is Bad Ass Even though i know their Viking Metal but like their classic Albums I Still Consider Black Metal Hordanes Land Frost Eld Great Albums I have most of their Albums in Times is a Masterpiece definitely a favorite
You’re doing really excellent work. What a great interview! Thanks for making it happen. I especially related to Grutle’s thoughts on the Maiden art. I too had to make the pilgrimage to the Ruskin Arms. 🤘🏿🙂🤘🏿 Hard to pinpoint a favorite Enslaved album as their body of work is glorious front to back. A new record is always an event. Excited for the new one that’s coming!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, definitely one of our favourite interviews we’ve done! It’s true what you say, and there’s an evolution to each record so it’s hard to even compare them half the time!
So true we listen to metal to escape this political bullshit and sometimes theese bands will talk for lile 20min about wemons bodys and trans bullshit like olay your fucking music... mainly namplem death lol😂

@@Xthecrowx1122 Cheers mate!
This interview is amazing! Can't wait for the new Enslaved album.
Such a down to earth dude. One of many reasons I’ve loved this band so long.
Incredibly kind and intelligent guy, and the broad interest and knowledge of music him and Ivar have, keeps Enslaved evolving every record!
I couldn’t agree more. Listen to everything.
