This is a challenge to build a flying RC four engined avro lancaster bomber from foamboard to take on one of the most famous engineering aviation challenges of WW2, the bouncing bombs of the Dambusters using 3D printed barrel projectiles.

Wish my father was still alive to see this. He was at the RAF air station in Binbrook in the 1950s--that air station hosted, briefly, the remains of the dambuster squadron, and they were still flying Lancasters in the 1950s. Along with actually being in the RAF (as a radio technician), he was an aeromodeller. Just a beautiful job.
A colab of three of my favourite youtubers. Brilliant! That plane is majestic.
For me the funniest bit was calling it an "emulsion". As if somehow, giving poopy, sticky mud a scientific name makes it less messy and gross.
I remember seeing a documentary on this bit of history and how fascinating it was. Cool to see a recreation of it.

Looks great! Seems quite floaty though, will need to go a lot faster for skimming a bomb on water I think. Will probably also need extremely smooth water, even small ripples will represent sizeable waves at this scale.
The Lancaster flies really well and looks stunning in flight,paint it up James and make a cockpit.
Nice to see 'young' guys in the hobby using new technology and materials. For many 'older generation' in the hobby if its not made from bits of balsa tree its "not a real model". Well done!

I’ve been watch your show and truly enjoying it. I love to see younger people working hard at solving problems and enjoying it. I enjoyed your bit on firing rockets from an airplane. You my find that the smallest size motor will work better. Being old enough to be your grandfather I have to admit it makes me want to get back out there and build some more again. We had rubber bands or gas that’s it. Thanks from Ohio USA.

Ok, the bouncing bomb mission is super cool, but you should revisit the fpv cockpit video you had done with the twin engine bomber you had a while back but now with the lancaster, that would be so cool! Maybe even with an fpv bombsight :)

James, I've been watching your work from your days of modifying David Windestahl's FT Spitfire. You make great stuff! Keep doing the cool things you do.
