Rare film of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in 1937

The day before vehicle traffic was allowed, 200,000 people crossed either on foot or on roller skates. On opening day, Mayor Angelo Rossi and other officials rode the ferry to Marin, then crossed the bridge in a motorcade past three ceremonial "barriers", the last a blockade of beauty queens who required Joseph Strauss to present the bridge to the Highway District before allowing him to pass.

Wow now thats was the best glory days of the bridge clean, fresh paint looks good now days its rust and holes in the railing crack road stretch out cables paint fading away fences on the main cables to keep people off a new $200,000,000 net basically its failing 😪😪😪😪😪 it will never see the glory days again it will only get worse
