@@The_Comms_Channel Using the iphone and widows - my interface is different than what I see from you in the videos, eventhough I can still do most of the fuctions. Any insight?
I can’t get my Heltec V3 to show up on the serial port list (using windows 11) so I can’t even flash it. Is there a way to fix this in a simple manner?
Thanks for this. A video for off grid install is needed by the Meshtastic community. Utilizing firmware storage and CLI flashing with an APK/IOS installation is in order.
I've watched all your Meshtastic centered videos, some of them multiple times, and they are all excellent. You provide answers and solutions. One note on using the Meshtastic Flasher. If you already have a second drive in your computer that you are flashing from, there is no apparent way to change the target drive from D: which is incorrect, to E: for example. Perhaps you have the ear of the programmers at Meshtastic and suggest a fix. Thanks for all your videos, and I always look forward to the next one.
Appreciate it! I'm glad my videos have been helpful! If you right click on "Download UF2" and select Save Link As, you can select whatever location you like.
Nice, i'm waiting for more !!!! Meshtastic is one of my fun project !!! I build a robot node to able send command to the node like !ping, !weather, !news and having a python application attach to it.
I acquired my T-echo 2 weeks ago unfortunately I have serious issues with firmware upgrading. Never done a firmware upgrade on a device before. I spent hours and dozens of attempts to upgrade firmware with no success. far beyond my tech skills as it turns out. I am disappointed. Even local computer facilities couldn't help me. Im sending it back. I wish future devices were far more user friendly.
Love this, Thanks for making this! Is it possible to add GPIO switching/indication? e.g. I push a button on one node and a light or buzzer on another node lights/sounds?
Sure thing! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! My initial thought is maybe set up the button on one node to send the bell character via canned message and have the other node have the buzzer/light go off when it receives the bell character Here's some info on that. meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/module/canned-message#send-bell Other than that, I'm not sure. This may be worth asking some of the folks on Discord. discord.com/invite/ktMAKGBnBs Thanks for the great question!
Great series, thank you so much. I’m a little confused about the channels, could you do a video on that topic? I mean if the default channel is Long/Fast and I set up a second channel also on Long/Fast are they the same channel? Thanks ❤
Not sure when exactly, but I'm planning on releasing videos more often so it shouldn't be too long before it comes out. It looks to be in early development, so not sure how smooth it will go, but we'll find out 🙂
Definitely interested in the Waveshare hat info. Working on a build right now but have plenty of questions, specifically about the Waveshare integration. Appreciate all you’re doing!
Thanks for the great content but i cant get my new t beam v1.2 bluetooth working. Reflashed with the lastest firmware and previous version. Turned off and on the BT rebooting for each toggle. Any solutions?
Are there any Meshtastic-compatible units that do not have a GPS unit? Also, really loving this video series. Make it really easy for a novice to get started. Thank you very much!
Sure thing! I'm glad you're finding them useful! Most don't have GPS actually. WisBlock can have a GPS module added to it, but it doesn't come with GPS. T-Deck and Heltec V3 that I've covered also don't have GPS. A complete list of all devices can be found here, it will specify which ones have GPS. meshtastic.org/docs/supported-hardware Thanks for the question and comment!
My tiny screen on my Heltec Wireless Stick prevents me from seeing much of anything. I don't know how to scroll on it, either. Adding on. Not only can I not read this tiny display because it appears to cut part of the contents off, so you can't see it all, but how do you add anything to these boards? Bread Board? Also, what is the other end, that looks like a place to plug something in? The Heltec site isn't much help in this regard.
Playing with 2 older T Beams, loaded up 2.2.24, and trying to communicate between the two. I get one all setup with name loaded, shut it off, clear my android Bluetooth of all devices, turn on the unit, and it pairs, then when updating the interface, it want to pair again, using the name of the first unit I turned off. I am going to install previous stable code to see if I can solve that. My first impression is this stable release is buggy !
You channel is awesome and the information is great 👍 but could you do a video demonstrating what you can do with LoRa and Meshtastic... like why is it worth the investment and setup
Great suggestion! I made most of my videos assuming that people would come across them already knowing what Meshtastic is. This will be good to do for those that don't. Thanks for the comment! I'll work on doing a video on this!
Have the TBeam, and no issues. Saw your video and ordered a T-ECHO. It seams to have a dead screen. No data, no backlight. Contacted LILYGO, and the keep wanting to have me load the test firmware to test the radio is sending and receiving. Ha ha… I would know cause there is no screen functioning. So far, T- Beam is superior until LILYGO can offer a unit that works and I can prove different. Funny thing is my issue that I reported to them had nothing to do with the radio, but who knows maybe 85% of the unit might not work.
so how do you pair when your device has no screen? neither 0000 or 1234 work. The hardware side of all this isn't difficult for me, but the software side is clunky as can be.
So I have a T-Beam, a T-Deck, and the meshtastic app on an Android device. I have made a test room with the T-Beam successfully connected and need to know how to set the T-Deck on the test room.
So I thought the T-Beam was connected but it is not. How would I connect the T-Deck and Beam on the new room? Do I need to be on a laptop or can I do it from my Android device?

5:47 every time we update the firmware do we have to redo all the settings or do they somehow save?
What does amateur radio allow or take away besides encryption? can we still talk to everyone else not on ham radio setting?
Once encryption is turned off, you're no longer able to talk to people who have it on
The biggest benefit of the amateur radio mode is it allows you to legally use more power.
