- In this video I will change the Rear Differential Fluid in my 2021 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E AWD. This is similar for the Pilot, Passport, and even the CR-V's equipped with AWD (All-Wheel Drive). Honda DPSF-II (Dual Pump Fluid 2), 1.92 Quarts; $10.57/qt
It will take 2 Quarts.
Fill bolt: 20 mm crush washer
Drain bolt: 18 mm crush washer
35 ft-lb of torque for both bolts.

I just did this service on my 2021 Pilot and yes, it will hold two full quarts with no outflow from the fill hole. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for all of the great informative videos. I am about to buy a 2020 Ridgeline RTLE and I like to do my own service. I watched your videos on the transmission, transfer case and now the rear diff. All super helpful. It struck me as odd that the rear diff and the transfer use different oils. I would have guessed they would be the same.

Can this be performed with the vehicle on the ground, or with only the rear raised on ramps? I can use jackstands if necessary but would rather not.
Sure, as long as you have enough room to work underneath. The reason I have all four wheels up on jackstands in my videos is because I rotate my tires when I’m doing my oil change and other maintenance. I don’t feel you would have enough clearance without raising it up, however, your idea of rear ramps should work great.
