Whoever in Chrysler thought it would be a good idea to turn $20 relay replacements into a $1k+ TIPM replacement needs to be sued and thrown in jail. This is ridiculous and had I known this was susch a common point of failure before buying a Chrysler 200, I never would have touched it! Thank you for showing me how I might save over a grand.
Great Video extremely thorough. Been fighting with my wife's Chrysler 200 started with horn going off out of nowhere. Ordered a Doorman TIPM it caused a Starter Control "OPEN" code. Sent it back just got another one in and I'm crossing my fingers 🙏
I’m having the same problem in my dodge 2013 avenger which is made by Chrysler. Horn keeps going off randomly. Maybe this is something I should do as well…did it work for you ?
So, to remove the battery on a Chrysler, you don't need to remove the bumper. You can remove the drivers tire, remove the plastic splash guards, and remove the battery from there. Put the new battery in, replace the splash guards, and then out the tire back on and you're set.
Just changed my wife's TIPM wife's and so far all the problems gone I got my TIPM from MAKS TIPM REBUILDERS they let you rent it to makes sure thats the problem
I have a 2011 chrysler 200 and my passenger side headlight will not power up. I replaced the bulb and even checked the wiring for chew marks and I found none, think my tipm is bad ?
I really wish he would have answered some of the comments. Because I have a Chrysler 200 2012 new battery new alternator still won't start this this is the worst car ever ever to fix. Little over a 100000 miles and everything has gone wrong within the past 3 months. The car has literally been down for 2 months in repairs. Chrysler should have recalled on this system of anesthesim because it's the biggest POS yes I've ever owned. If anyone has any answers Or ideas that you could throw my way I'd appreciate you. Because I have searched everywhere every forum and I'm not getting a straight answer. Good luck to all the Christ are 200 owners we need it.
Thats odd, I bought my 2014 chrysler 200, I've done all maintenance myself. Never had any major mechanical issues ever, its been one of the most reliable cars i've ever owned. Recently the TIPM started making the horn honk randomly, replaced the timp and its all good now. Still going with 220k miles on it. I commute 180 miles daily with it.
This tipm is the worse design ever. I bought a rebuild one that I had to send back to get rebuilt again. They have internal relays on the circuit board that go bad
Dorman products suck anymore. Used to make a decent product, but not anymore. If you want problems, buy their products. You'd be better off sending the module out for repair.

I just pop the first bolt off the bumper and turn the tire

Is it cranking?
Make sure it is the correct tipm for your chrysler as dodge has tipms that for multiple cars

Question how did you remove the positive wire in the center of TIPM does it pop out need a socket to remove a nut

Check autozone. $478, but you can return your OLD TIPM and they will refund you $200. Total price ends up being $278.
