Song I wrote last year. Thanks for listening, liking, sharing and subscribing.
For new listeners, and reminder to repeat listeners, in the last four weeks most of the songs I've put up on my channel are songs I wrote over the last ten years, recorded a cappella and posted on my channel. I pulled those songs down (in total, about 150 or so songs) and began using Udio to produce music for the songs. I did this after two years of talking to musicians and singers, going to smaller venues for concerts, open mics, sending my lyrics to established artist all in hopes of collaborating. No takers. Met a lot of nice people, but no serious interest. Was fun but frustrating.
I'm older and not in good health. I wanted to hear my stories, songs, poems in richer formats. Didn't/don't want to die waiting for someone else to make it happen. Sooo, I got over my aversion to AI and used Udio to create music for my poems/songs/stories. I hope you like them. They take me quite a while to put together. I drop short clips of my poorly sung a cappella versions into the the Ai, and then go to battle with the software. Finding the right sound for the songs/poems, the meaning and feeling, is important to me.
Some of the songs on here have my voice in them. The AI cloned my voice and used it throughout some of the songs. Always, always, these are my lyrics and often my melodies extracted from my a cappella versions. Finding appropriate musical homes for my writing has been very rewarding.
I've written four novels, many short stories, and five or six hundred (maybe more? yeah, it's more) poems/songs. Each song stems from entire novels or movies in my head. Finding writing later in life was liberating for the worlds floating inside me, even if I was terrible at it for the first couple years. The songs are condensed versions of those vivid worlds in my mind. I really hope you enjoy the songs, the stories behind them, and the many layers of meaning embedded.
Best Love, David
