During the selection of the pump we have to see three factor based on this three factors pump is selected
1) Flow rate
2) Head
3) Fluid properties

Head pressure is more to the reciprocating pump so line can rupture

Because the discharge pressure is too high thats why we put PSV in reciprocating pump
