FYI, you don't have to remove that upper fairing or the windshield to replace the bulbs. You can reach under the dash and to do it without removing anything. It's just a bit more difficult because you have to go by feel since you can't see down there while your hand is in there.
Job done! Dropped mine today (for the first time). Broke the fairing, bent the brake lever and blew the headlight bulb. Glued the fairing with ABS glue for £3, the guy across the road (plumber) managed to heat the lever up and bend it back into shape, and a new bulb was £4. Cheapest drop I've ever had 🤗 and fixed in a day 👍
Thanks. Came in handy today. The hard part is always fumbling with that clip. I could have done it by reaching in but this saves a bit of knuckle scraping and it’s really easy to take the parts off. I miss the good old days when you just twisted the plug 90 degrees to remove and replace the bulb. 😂
TY sir... biggest struggle I had was realizing I had to flip that stupid spring retention thing out to get the bulb off... once that was done EZ PZ... TY all these years later
I turned the handle bar to the right and was able to slip my arm/handle to access the bulb easily. To remove the bulb you need to push the holing spring clip in and up.
Hey great video but I'm stuck. I can't or don't have enough room to put the spring into position and keep the headlight in place. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to take the front end off in order to do it or just leave the low beam alone as I have four very good lights I typically use during night hours. Any suggestions.
Good to know that there is no more stupid bulb adapter for gen 3 versys, making a swap to LED bulbs much easier. It wasn't possible with gen 2 due to that stupid adapter
