The line "We are always with Insomnia" in Reason comes over video on the moment they got their first win on a music show; because it is explicitly a song dedicated to fans on their 6th anniversary. They are so wholesome it gets strangers that don't even know any of the references in the video.
Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's backing vocals is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art. By the way, the redhead is Gahyeon, the maknae. She is only going to kill you in your sleep if you call her cute too often. 😉 "Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect! "Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It could be about North Korea as well after all. It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release! "Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. InSomnia might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher! Can you imagine this song live? With InSomnia going Whoooo-whoooaaa and them singing over it? 😊 I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri. Musically, I am in heaven. I'm a metalhead and I love the song. AND THAT RIFF! 🤘🎸 Obviously the song is an absolute anthem! I would recommend two special clips for you: "Sahara" and "Poison Love". Well well well... BEcause is meant to be summer song which in the Kpop industry, it is meant to be fun, cheery and bubbly .... unless the group is Dreamcatcher and it is their take on a "summer" song which is based on a Korean tradition where you tell ghost stories or visit haunted places so that you can feel the "chills" to fight the summer heat. Officially the song unravels a story of an obsession and longing for love. The capitalise BE in the title is used in context as the Hanja character 悲’ (‘BE’) as they sound alike and the word meaning sadness, and the title BEcause could be loosely translate as the cause of sadness, and paired with the line BEcause I like you or BEcause I love you, the sadness is caused by liking or loving someone. Also, the whole creepy toxic vibe is link to the choreography where there is a scene of someone choking another, and the lyrics about "forever mine, even your breath" and then "your face blue...like an ocean view" kind of reflect someone being strangled until the fact turns blue etc. Also, the MV plot theme has another layer that officially borrowed quite a bit of plot elements from the horror movie "Us" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers who were forced to live underground depraved of the "finer" things and are trying to are trying to take over their "privileged" above ground counterparts...won't go into much details as it would be better if you watch the movie yourself if you haven't). There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "Us" which has scenes depicting a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, the carnival; similarly the choreography also uses the movie themes such as the doppelgangers holding hand in a chain, the slight side to side head tilts, ending pose of the center member which two hand on her face, mirrored choreography etc.. There are also a few easter eggs for the doppelgangers concept such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits (with the ending outfit more whimsical), as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart. More impressively, musicality, it plays into the theme of opposite doppelgangers where there is a two part chorus (whimsical and cute, and a more rock follow up) and two part bridge (soft vocals followed up by a deep spoken rap with atmospherically vocals behind) trying to show this mirror duality. Also, I love the Pyscho volin homage during the rap part of the song.

Yup u are right! Reason is a song dedicated to insomnias( fandom name or somnia for short) for their 6 years anniversary. Dreamcatcher road to till now havent been a smooth journey, from 5 members disbanding from their previous group minx,re-debuting, people doubting them doing the rock concept ,not getting the acknowledgment they deserved till finally getting their first music win after 1924 days (of course the road is still long ahead). This girls never gave up, their passion on stage , their personality and of course their great music , b-side too 😏really just hit the bias group spot for me and tbh there was not a single dry eye in the fandom that day when Reason was released😂. Maison and Vision are both parts of their Apocalypse trilogy. 1st part is Maison and 2nd is Vision, Dreamcatcher is coming back this May to end the Apocalypse trilogy :)) let's anticipate it!!! This trilogy has a very powerful and meaningful message about protecting our planet and how we should be aware about the current situations in our environment. Fun fact: Maison was released few days after when the Scientists around the world protested to demand climate action last year, April 2022. It was when the #LetTheEarthBreathe trended, Maison also trended that time for having a timely release of album/trilogy. It was also the song that gave Dreamcatcher their very FIRST MUSIC SHOW WIN which is a very historical event in Kpop since Dreamcatcher now held the longest time between debut and their first music show win, claiming their first trophy 1,923 days after their debut.
Just a quick warning, Dreamcatcher series rarely have a happy ending. So the planet will probably end up a ball of radioactive waste by the end of the trilogy.

Real talk, I cried for, like, 3 days straight from watching reaction videos of "Reason" when it dropped. Their connection with the fans is special as hell. Honestly, I don't feel like typing a novel right now, as I'm prone to doing, but you'll learn over time why InSomnia are so dedicated to them. Granted, I haven't been into K-pop too long (since Aug 2021), but I've never felt legitimately and genuinely appreciated by an artist/group. Like, their gratitude is palpable. Although Dreamcatcher are more known internationally, they are still seen as black sheep’s in South Korea because of their rock concept. People were always saying how Dreamcatcher should change their concept to a more common concept because their rock concept wouldn’t make them popular, also as the fact that Dreamcatcher is really the only K-pop group to incorporate rock into their music right now AND being a girl group at that, but as Dreamcatchers response, they always state how they love their rock concept and they plan to stick to it no matter what everyone says. Also from MY interpretation I think the lyrics in Reason “I might look different from you but I’m not that different. I grew up getting hit and beaten, everyone said I was wrong” gives further proof of that. This group really is a gem and haters don’t even know their full story, these girls have been through a lot and I hope they get the recognition they deserve in Korea, but of course that comes with time. If you wanna hear the rock infused sound that distinguished them from the mainstream Kpop scene, you need to view their first two MV's, from the Nightmare Series arch. Their debut song, Chase Me and the continuation follow-up being, Good Night.The guitar sound and emphasis in Chase Me, but more particular in Good Night, is that sound that Dreamcatcher introduced and brought to Kpop. Basically no other GG had stuck to this vibe and sound. They have other rock infused songs in their Nightmare Series arch. Particular, What. The others songs in that series have a more mixture of rock and EDM sound. Less rock sounding. But the rock sound is what has separated them from the bigger, more popular, mainstream Kpop industry. And they've stuck with it from the beginning.

The animated magenta/pink person at the end of Reason represents Insomnia, and he/she has the dreamcatcher light stick and cloak on. The light stick is imho the best in K-pop, being indefinitely extendable, becoming a staff/scepter… you can even see people waving it in the audience in the MV. And the frikkin’ official dreamcatcher cloak.
Hellooou, as for the guide persé, there's a divided opinion in terms which guide is better. To be fair (personally) I would choose The ultimate Dreamcatcher's 2021-2022 to react (for the channel) since it may be a little bit out dated but it contains better explanation and more info. and then in your own time perhaps react to the latest.
Excited to see you discover more of them, I love watching people fall for Dreamcatcher! They all have huge personalities and it'll be hard to pick a bias, trust me. @@roguereacts I'm glad to hear that! When I first heard it, it was very touching. Especially HanDong's "We are always with InSomnia" part. But I wouldn't put it on the top of my favorite DC songs. And "Full Moon" was my favorite fan song. But dang once I heard it live, it shot up my list. Especially since I feel like it encompasses and showcases Dreamcatcher talents and who they are. With the main and lead vocalist Siyeon, Yoohyeon, Jiu, and SuA murdering the chorus. HanDong and Gahyeon's lower tones on the verses. HanDong sweet bridge, with Siyeon's and Yoohyeon's powerful belt. DAMI, SuA, and Gahyeon killed it during the raps. Everything just came together. Think the only thing missing was DAMI's vocal, but that's ok. It's a really great fansong.

dreamcatchers fandom name is insomnia and you are right, reason is a tribute mv! the start of the video is jiu (the leader and eldest) saying “because of insomnia, dreamcatcher exists” and some of the song lyrics are “we are always with insomnia, we can spend more time, together, forever” this is especially near and dear to me because every dreamcatcher member very recently resigned their contracts and are only the THIRD kpop girl group to do this without losing at least one member, twice and red velvet, both big groups from big companies being the other two. god i love them so much

Yup, Reason is a fan song and it is actually their third fan song. It was released to celebrate their 6th anniversary last January. When you follow the Dreamcatcher discography, you will notice their music keeps evolving, yet you can instantly recognize the Dreamcatcher vibe. Then there's the Japanese releases but let's save that for much later since you'll need to be really prepared xD
BEcause MV and choreo are based on the horror movie Us (2019) by the director of Nope! and Get Out! It's a masterpiece and I recommend it. The meaning behind blue and red without spoilers is about the good and bad inside of us. The song is about obsessive love: love is good but when it becomes obsessive it can become extremely bad, even dangerous. BEcause tells you to embrace the darker, crazy version of yourself. BEcause is the title of a special single album Summer Holiday, which is why it doesn't sound like a track from any of their series, it was released on summer so the girls wanted a horror carnival vibe. They don't like cute/love concepts, so they said "let's make it creepy!" MAISON, VISION and ??? (coming in May) are indeed their new trilogy called Apocalypse. In MAISON MV they are goddesses with powers seeing how humans have killed the earth through environmental pollution and climate change. Mother Earth literally dies. They explore the wastelands and see the big companies causing the most amount of pollution have no intention of changing their ways, so they're asking--begging--for someone to save what's left of earth. This is an important message in the real world bc just in a few years the damage will become irreversible and we won't we able to save the planet last minute, this is a call for help for the world. VISION is the followup, which becomes a call for action. Dreamcatcher decides to be the saviors and they go to these evil companies and destroy them. There's a little hope in the end, seeing a few flowers and a new statue of Mother Earth to represent the revolution. The basic meaning of blue and red is Yin and Yang. Blue being Yin the female principle and red the male principle as shown on the South Korean flag. Red represents the South and Summer with the qualities of fire, passion, love, creation. Blue represents the East and Spring with the qualities of integrity, brightness, clarity and hope. The two principles combined in the yin/yang symbol create harmony. The way Dreamcatcher use these colors is quite complex though. If passion burns too hot then it becomes destructive, while hope can be blind to deception. In the movie 'Us' dopplegangers living beneath a small American resort town slowly replace the people on the surface. The dopplegangers wear red outfits and the family they are targeting wear blue so I think the colors are primarily about that plus the association of the underground with red fire and above ground with blue sky. Every time they use red and blue in an MV it's different. Those colors are very prominent in Deja Vu
I'm surprised I haven't seen it mentioned, but the Apocalypse trilogy is about Environmental conservation and them bringing awareness to it. Their trilogies all have a story arc, but their last 2 in particular are more grounded in real societal problems. Love the reactions, I can't wait for you to listen to the Alone in the City mini album.
One of the things I admire about them is the fact that they take a stand against issues and make their position pretty clear, which is something I've not really seen in k-pop beyond some vague comments in a vlive. The Dystopia trilogy was about how out of hand bullying, particularly online and on social media has become. I find that really brave of everyone involved in their productions because "netizens" can have hugely detrimental effects on groups, even if in the end it wasn't warranted (looking at the whole Soojin-(G)idle situation 🙄). Should a stance not fall in the general public's grace in that moment, since DC are from a tiny company, it could be a disaster. But they press on and continue staying true to themselves. Even their debut, Chase Me has pretty provocative lyrics when you take into account just how conservative South Korea can be. I just love to see new potential Somnies fall into the black hole that is Dreamcatcher. Can't wait to follow you on your journey.

Welcome to discovering our ult girl group. I got into them for their music, and fell for their personalities once I got to know them. Which is easy to do since they put out a lot of content themselves on their youtube channel (we are a very well-fed fandom), and some amazing fan channels. Dreamworld's guide The Ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcatcher Guide, is the best one out so far. Yes, there is a more recent guide, but it's not nearly as good. Another recommendation would be the This is.. series by Insomnicsy, which is imho, the best fan channel out there. They have This is.. episodes for each member and Dreamcatcher as a group for 2020, 2021 and 2022. These are very good for getting to know individual members better. And yes, I would love to see you react to their relay dances, Dreamcatcher takes them to another level (their cover of abracadabra is a favorite), or other dance covers like Taki Taki.
for the guide, it's good to choose video from driim, the title including "from soon to be insomnia". it's complete enough and more recent too. for individual members, videos from insomnicsy titled "this is ---" (there are 3 versions of them: 2020, 2021, 2022). you'll get the summary of their off stage behavior 😂 each ver has different segments (some are same but using different clips) so you can understand them off stage and probably will confuse yourself about bias again. on Scream you said you like Yoohyeon, on BOCA you said you like the blue bangs hair in the center which is Siyeon, on Odd Eye another blue hair so comeback again to Yoohyeon, for deep tone rap of course Dami, you said like the red hair on BEcause and it's Gahyeon, another red hair on Maison which is Handong, I guess so far you still don't find your specific reason to like the oldest 2: JiU and SuA bcs you haven't spotted them yet. for MV only, people usually drawn into Dami (charisma, deep tone rap), Siyeon (vocals especially belters, charisma, stare/gaze), Gahyeon and JiU (visually catchy and sometimes the sass vibe for Gah). mostly I found people who still watching MVs only are having them as bias(es). for me, I chose the Kims (JiU SuA Yoohyeon) as bias line, the others are wrecking me but mainly Gahyeon and sometimes Handong. Handong was absent during Scream and BOCA era and she came back during Odd Eye like completely buffed vibe like everything from her was escalated quickly
also red is scientifically as warm/hot visible wavelength. it's side by side with infrared which is the wave of heat. red in kpop is really common especially during intense section like in Scream. red also used in badass concept a lot alongside black. in some places red also symbolize anger (related to "hot" situation) so writings with red ink sometimes interpreted as impolite especially students to teacher or mainly to the older ones. teacher also use red to highlight something important strongly. in the end, back to red as hot color 😅
"Reason" is a thank you to fans for being with them along the rocky road to the good place they're in right now. Dreamcatcher has had an "interesting" path, almost being disbanded twice and being re-invented once. When you see one (or more) of their guides, you will get a feel for this. About REASON, my reaction was similar to yours, apart from the fact that when I heard Dong's part "we're always with insomnia, we can spend more time..." and then Siyeon's "TOGETHEEEER" , it made me burst into tears, it touched me very deeply and I cried like a baby hahahaha
If you want to see what see what Dreamcatcher can't do, then check out their cover (as Minx) of Love Shake. The sexualized video concept doesn't work for them. The cover still sounds good, but the video trends then killed the potential.

For some reason I got bored of Maison really fast, the chorus is too repetitive (even the instrumentals) and kinda... eh. But the other 3 songs are fantastic, just like almost every other Dreamcatcher song. Reason is a fan song! You can hear the line "We are always with InSomnia, we can spend more time together beyond limits" sang by Handong/Siyeon. It was really heartwarming to watch it for the first time being a fan since forever.

Dami the rapper also sings the second chorus of Vision when they are zapping the guys, there is still vocal Dami to discover. The tattoo on Siyeon's side are the birth years of her family in Roman numerals. Siyeon never does anything the normal way but it's always better.Red hair Gahyeon from BEcause or pink hair Gahyeon from Boca is a forever-debate among Insomnia (fandom). The line "We are always with Insomnia" in Reason comes over video on the moment they got their first win on a music show; because it is explicitly a song dedicated to fans on their 6th anniversary. They are so wholesome it gets strangers that don't even know any of the references in the video.

Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's backing vocals is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you".
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
By the way, the redhead is Gahyeon, the maknae. She is only going to kill you in your sleep if you call her cute too often. 😉
"Maison" is part 1 of the Apocalypse trilogy. Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert").
People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect!
"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It could be about North Korea as well after all.
It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way.
So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace.
By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well.
Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
"Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. InSomnia might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher!

I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri.

Well well well... BEcause is meant to be summer song which in the Kpop industry, it is meant to be fun, cheery and bubbly .... unless the group is Dreamcatcher and it is their take on a "summer" song which is based on a Korean tradition where you tell ghost stories or visit haunted places so that you can feel the "chills" to fight the summer heat.
Officially the song unravels a story of an obsession and longing for love. The capitalise BE in the title is used in context as the Hanja character 悲’ (‘BE’) as they sound alike and the word meaning sadness, and the title BEcause could be loosely translate as the cause of sadness, and paired with the line BEcause I like you or BEcause I love you, the sadness is caused by liking or loving someone. Also, the whole creepy toxic vibe is link to the choreography where there is a scene of someone choking another, and the lyrics about "forever mine, even your breath" and then "your face blue...like an ocean view" kind of reflect someone being strangled until the fact turns blue etc.
Also, the MV plot theme has another layer that officially borrowed quite a bit of plot elements from the horror movie "Us" by Jordan Peele where doppelgangers who were forced to live underground depraved of the "finer" things and are trying to are trying to take over their "privileged" above ground counterparts...won't go into much details as it would be better if you watch the movie yourself if you haven't). There are a lot of details in the MV that point to this such as the movie "Us" which has scenes depicting a hall of mirror, someone being captured and replaced, the carnival; similarly the choreography also uses the movie themes such as the doppelgangers holding hand in a chain, the slight side to side head tilts, ending pose of the center member which two hand on her face, mirrored choreography etc.. There are also a few easter eggs for the doppelgangers concept such as the MV is 3:13 minute long (coincidence? I think not) , and that the opening scene and ending scene has the members in completely different outfits (with the ending outfit more whimsical), as well as the completely drain symmetrical hourglass at the end indicating that at some point, the doppelgangers replaced their original counterpart.
More impressively, musicality, it plays into the theme of opposite doppelgangers where there is a two part chorus (whimsical and cute, and a more rock follow up) and two part bridge (soft vocals followed up by a deep spoken rap with atmospherically vocals behind) trying to show this mirror duality. Also, I love the Pyscho volin homage during the rap part of the song.

Dreamcatcher road to till now havent been a smooth journey, from 5 members disbanding from their previous group minx,re-debuting, people doubting them doing the rock concept ,not getting the acknowledgment they deserved till finally getting their first music win after 1924 days (of course the road is still long ahead). This trilogy has a very powerful and meaningful message about protecting our planet and how we should be aware about the current situations in our environment. Fun fact: Maison was released few days after when the Scientists around the world protested to demand climate action last year, April 2022. It was when the #LetTheEarthBreathe trended, Maison also trended that time for having a timely release of album/trilogy. Their B-side tracks is where they flex their vocals & versatility which seems infinite, as they continue to surprise us everytime they comeback with new songs.

Real talk, I cried for, like, 3 days straight from watching reaction videos of "Reason" when it dropped. Their connection with the fans is special as hell. Honestly, I don't feel like typing a novel right now, as I'm prone to doing, but you'll learn over time why InSomnia are so dedicated to them. Although Dreamcatcher are more known internationally, they are still seen as black sheep’s in South Korea because of their rock concept. People were always saying how Dreamcatcher should change their concept to a more common concept because their rock concept wouldn’t make them popular, also as the fact that Dreamcatcher is really the only K-pop group to incorporate rock into their music right now AND being a girl group at that, but as Dreamcatchers response, they always state how they love their rock concept and they plan to stick to it no matter what everyone says. Also from MY interpretation I think the lyrics in Reason “I might look different from you but I’m not that different. I grew up getting hit and beaten, everyone said I was wrong” gives further proof of that. This group really is a gem and haters don’t even know their full story, these girls have been through a lot and I hope they get the recognition they deserve in Korea, but of course that comes with time. If you wanna hear the rock infused sound that distinguished them from the mainstream Kpop scene, you need to view their first two MV's, from the Nightmare Series arch. Their debut song, Chase Me and the continuation follow-up being, Good Night.The guitar sound and emphasis in Chase Me, but more particular in Good Night, is that sound that Dreamcatcher introduced and brought to Kpop. Basically no other GG had stuck to this vibe and sound. They have other rock infused songs in their Nightmare Series arch. Particular, What. The others songs in that series have a more mixture of rock and EDM sound. Less rock sounding. But the rock sound is what has separated them from the bigger, more popular, mainstream Kpop industry. And they've stuck with it from the beginning.

And "Full Moon" was my favorite fan song. But dang once I heard it live, it shot up my list. Especially since I feel like it encompasses and showcases Dreamcatcher talents and who they are. With the main and lead vocalist Siyeon, Yoohyeon, Jiu, and SuA murdering the chorus. HanDong and Gahyeon's lower tones on the verses. HanDong sweet bridge, with Siyeon's and Yoohyeon's powerful belt. DAMI, SuA, and Gahyeon killed it during the raps. Everything just came together. Think the only thing missing was DAMI's vocal, but that's ok. It's a really great fansong.

BEcause MV and choreo are based on the horror movie Us (2019) by the director of Nope! and Get Out! It's a masterpiece and I recommend it. The meaning behind blue and red without spoilers is about the good and bad inside of us. The song is about obsessive love: love is good but when it becomes obsessive it can become extremely bad, even dangerous. BEcause tells you to embrace the darker, crazy version of yourself. BEcause is the title of a special single album Summer Holiday, which is why it doesn't sound like a track from any of their series, it was released on summer so the girls wanted a horror carnival vibe. They don't like cute/love concepts, so they said "let's make it creepy!"
MAISON, VISION and ??? (coming in May) are indeed their new trilogy called Apocalypse.
In MAISON MV they are goddesses with powers seeing how humans have killed the earth through environmental pollution and climate change. Mother Earth literally dies. They explore the wastelands and see the big companies causing the most amount of pollution have no intention of changing their ways, so they're asking--begging--for someone to save what's left of earth. This is an important message in the real world bc just in a few years the damage will become irreversible and we won't we able to save the planet last minute, this is a call for help for the world. VISION is the followup, which becomes a call for action. Dreamcatcher decides to be the saviors and they go to these evil companies and destroy them. There's a little hope in the end, seeing a few flowers and a new statue of Mother Earth to represent the revolution.

REASON is a fan song for their 6th anniversary (January 13, debuted in 2017) and it actually has the rock vibes from their earlier songs (Nightmare series, the only one you have left). Insomnia is their fandom name, so the name drop in the fan song was an emotional moment for all Insomnias, especially since they achieved their first music show win in April 2022. This was a struggle throughout their career to the point they actually stopped wishing for it (a music show win is the starting point for any K-pop artist, so not ever getting it was discouraging). They were also supposed to win in 2019 with Deja Vu but it was "allegedly" rigged bc the numbers didn't add up. The music video has moments from concerts (with Insomnia) and the animation has references to previous music videos and showcases how Insomnias are the ones to bring Dreamcatcher up whenever they fall.
Here's a playlist for their Nightmare series, it's their original horror concept where they are nightmares and haunt people. It’s ironic that they got their first win in a song about protecting, fighting for the environment. Reason is 6th anniversary song and also another song for their fans as Full Moon was the first song for Insomina. It only took me 5 songs- Boca, Scream, Deja Vu, You and I and Piri to become an Insomnia as that was the order I went in when I was going down the rabbit whole of Dreamcatcher exploration.

The basic meaning of blue and red is Yin and Yang. Blue being Yin the female principle and red the male principle as shown on the South Korean flag. Red represents the South and Summer with the qualities of fire, passion, love, creation. Blue represents the East and Spring with the qualities of integrity, brightness, clarity and hope. The two principles combined in the yin/yang symbol create harmony. The way Dreamcatcher use these colors is quite complex though. If passion burns too hot then it becomes destructive, while hope can be blind to deception. In the movie 'Us' dopplegangers living beneath a small American resort town slowly replace the people on the surface. The dopplegangers wear red outfits and the family they are targeting wear blue so I think the colors are primarily about that plus the association of the underground with red fire and above ground with blue sky. Every time they use red and blue in an MV it's different. Those colors are very prominent in Deja Vu

I'm surprised I haven't seen it mentioned, but the Apocalypse trilogy is about Environmental conservation and them bringing awareness to it. Their trilogies all have a story arc, but their last 2 in particular are more grounded in real societal problems. Love the reactions, I can't wait for you to listen to the Alone in the City mini album.

One of the things I admire about them is the fact that they take a stand against issues and make their position pretty clear, which is something I've not really seen in k-pop beyond some vague comments in a vlive. The Dystopia trilogy was about how out of hand bullying, particularly online and on social media has become. I find that really brave of everyone involved in their productions because "netizens" can have hugely detrimental effects on groups, even if in the end it wasn't warranted (looking at the whole Soojin-(G)idle situation 🙄). Should a stance not fall in the general public's grace in that moment, since DC are from a tiny company, it could be a disaster. But they press on and continue staying true to themselves. Even their debut, Chase Me has pretty provocative lyrics when you take into account just how conservative South Korea can be. I just love to see new potential Somnies fall into the black hole that is Dreamcatcher. Can't wait to follow you on your journey.

Welcome to discovering our ult girl group. I got into them for their music, and fell for their personalities once I got to know them. Which is easy to do since they put out a lot of content themselves on their youtube channel (we are a very well-fed fandom), and some amazing fan channels.
Dreamworld's guide The Ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcatcher Guide, is the best one out so far. Yes, there is a more recent guide, but it's not nearly as good.
Another recommendation would be the This is.. series by Insomnicsy, which is imho, the best fan channel out there. They have This is.. episodes for each member and Dreamcatcher as a group for 2020, 2021 and 2022. These are very good for getting to know individual members better.
And yes, I would love to see you react to their relay dances, Dreamcatcher takes them to another level (their cover of abracadabra is a favorite), or other dance covers like Taki Taki.

for the guide, it's good to choose video from driim, the title including "from soon to be insomnia". it's complete enough and more recent too.
for individual members, videos from insomnicsy titled "this is ---" (there are 3 versions of them: 2020, 2021, 2022). you'll get the summary of their off stage behavior 😂 each ver has different segments (some are same but using different clips) so you can understand them off stage and probably will confuse yourself about bias again.
on Scream you said you like Yoohyeon, on BOCA you said you like the blue bangs hair in the center which is Siyeon, on Odd Eye another blue hair so comeback again to Yoohyeon, for deep tone rap of course Dami, you said like the red hair on BEcause and it's Gahyeon, another red hair on Maison which is Handong, I guess so far you still don't find your specific reason to like the oldest 2: JiU and SuA bcs you haven't spotted them yet. for MV only, people usually drawn into Dami (charisma, deep tone rap), Siyeon (vocals especially belters, charisma, stare/gaze), Gahyeon and JiU (visually catchy and sometimes the sass vibe for Gah). mostly I found people who still watching MVs only are having them as bias(es).
for me, I chose the Kims (JiU SuA Yoohyeon) as bias line, the others are wrecking me but mainly Gahyeon and sometimes Handong. Handong was absent during Scream and BOCA era and she came back during Odd Eye like completely buffed vibe like everything from her was escalated quickly
also red is scientifically as warm/hot visible wavelength. it's side by side with infrared which is the wave of heat. red in kpop is really common especially during intense section like in Scream. red also used in badass concept a lot alongside black. in some places red also symbolize anger (related to "hot" situation) so writings with red ink sometimes interpreted as impolite especially students to teacher or mainly to the older ones. teacher also use red to highlight something important strongly. in the end, back to red as hot color 😅

Yes, this is a trilogy, started with Maison and then Vision. The last part of the trilogy will come un May when they comeback. It's about Global Warming and peace in our planet. It's about to have a Vision and actions to save it. And yes, Reason is a fan song. The third, cause we already had Full Moon, Under the sky and now Reason. Reason is a homage to what we mean to each other. Because of InSOmnia, Dreamcatcher exists, end because Dreamcatcher exists, InSOmnia exists. We are in this InSomnia thing for life.

About REASON, my reaction was similar to yours, apart from the fact that when I heard Dong's part "we're always with insomnia, we can spend more time..." and then Siyeon's "TOGETHEEEER" , it made me burst into tears, it touched me very deeply and I cried like a baby hahahaha
If you want to see what see what Dreamcatcher can't do, then check out their cover (as Minx) of Love Shake. The sexualized video concept doesn't work for them. The cover still sounds good, but the video trends then killed the potential.

For some reason I got bored of Maison really fast, the chorus is too repetitive (even the instrumentals) and kinda... eh.
But the other 3 songs are fantastic, just like almost every other Dreamcatcher song.
Reason is a fan song! You can hear the line "We are always with InSomnia, we can spend more time together beyond limits" sang by Handong/Siyeon.
It was really heartwarming to watch it for the first time being a fan since forever.
Oh I can see that, some songs that I listen to for a while I get tired of. I loved their fan song, I thought it was really touching for them to do!
