As a proud owner of the new Razer Blade 14 that dig made me sad. I know Razer has a hit or miss quality sometimes but the performance of the laptop is actually amazing. Surprisingly the Razer is cheaper than this as well !
If it's called professional or workstation it HAS TO HAVE AN RJ45. It's not negotiable. For people who get work done for example in programming devices or you want to move data reliably I want my RJ45. Even the foldable ones they put in thin and light... I don't want to carry around a usb nic.
I love me an RJ45 as well, but it’s definitely negotiable. In my use case (and probably most others), my laptop spends most of its time docked either at work or at home, so the dock can have all the ports. On the road, I don’t need Ethernet all that often (though I do carry a mini usb-c hub with nic+hdmi). I have this Laptop. I had a Touchpad issue so I had to get it replaced that's the only major issue with the Laptop. I really wished that The Laptop has fan control software because It can run very loud running games. I had to change cooling policy to passive. That make the fans less loud. But I think I can still make the fans less loud.

I had a ZBook for work, the two year old model but it was a beast. Never struggled with anything, 3D modeling, CAD, etc. Only complaint was the weight, it's a beast.
I really feel like 4k is overkill on a 15-inch display, and that display increases the price of an already extremely expensive laptop by a couple hundred dollars.
4k on a laptop is already pointless, so lets add 120Hz to it and make it so there's no chance it can manage it. Oh and lets also make it more than 4 grand, that'll make it a good value proposition...
16:9 display is a bummer. !6:10 or 3:2 for productivity workloads is much, much better. In my ideal world the perfect laptop would be: - sleek and minimal aluminum display - small footprint and under 1.5kg in weight - bezelless 14" 1920x1200 display with 120+ Hz refresh rate (OLED or good IPS) - 3060 level or above GPU performance - decent webcam - windows hello facial recognition and/or fingerprint reader integrated into power button - decent IO - 2x USB A, 2x thunderbolt or USB C with power delivery, 1xHDMI and/or displayport, RJ45, SD card reader, 3.5mm combo jack - 15h+ battery life - good backlit keyboard - good and large trackpad - upgradeable SSD/ram/wifi card I don't care that much about CPU performance or speakers - all CPUs on the market meet my needs anyway and I much prefer using headphones over speakers. Maybe in a couple generations there will be something that meets my wishes.
Had a Zbook G6 but HP throttles the CPU's power limits to keep it cool and have a better battery life. I moved to a Precision 7560 which is not as good looking and a little heavier than the ZBook but performs much better for actual work.
This is the laptop equivalent "sleeper" car. Business up front, party in the back. It should have a default macro that instantly mutes sound, minimizes a game, switches to a different windows virtual desktop and fires up an excel workbook. They could have a dedicated key and call it the "boss" key.
Honestly this laptop seems pretty impressive. Only thing I don’t like about it from a cosmetic stand point is the huge Z on the back of it but that’s nothing that Dbrand can’t fix. Wish that the price was lower.

I just got the G10 Studio and I agree with all of this! Amazing devices top to bottom!
5:02 woah there Alex, I could hear the whip cracking on that one 😂
That big freaking Z logo though geez.... Put it way smaller off to the side and it wouldn't be bad.
We need an AMD version of this!
I have a 1st gen zbook. Man I use it for gaming and hard core programming, it runs so smooth. The only drawback is portability but even though its ancient it runs so smooth I'll only upgrade it when I have money to throw away
As a proud owner of the new Razer Blade 14 that dig made me sad. I know Razer has a hit or miss quality sometimes but the performance of the laptop is actually amazing.
Surprisingly the Razer is cheaper than this as well !
I love my XPS15 but that HP had so much clarity at that volume
If it's called professional or workstation it HAS TO HAVE AN RJ45.
It's not negotiable. For people who get work done for example in programming devices or you want to move data reliably I want my RJ45.
Even the foldable ones they put in thin and light... I don't want to carry around a usb nic.
Alex said in the video you can buy the ZBook Fury series which are thicker and has all the other ports.
You can buy alienware X17.
It has upto 165W 3080 and RJ45
I love me an RJ45 as well, but it’s definitely negotiable. In my use case (and probably most others), my laptop spends most of its time docked either at work or at home, so the dock can have all the ports. On the road, I don’t need Ethernet all that often (though I do carry a mini usb-c hub with nic+hdmi).
You need what you need, I just don’t think it’s necessarily representative of the needs of the majority.
I have been using a zbook and now I think I should upgrade.. these seems nice... Hope it isn't too pricey
That razer comment... I guess LTT burned all bridges after the Christmas gift incident.
What happened?
Well, after saying everything is better than Razer and proceeding to get low frames says a lot... and soldered RAM and WiFi, lol.
@@mrmarecki1 Linus gifted a Razer laptop (I think it was the 1st gen Stealth) to every LMG employee in a Christmas party. And one by one the laptops failed quite spectacularly. If I remember correctly, an absurd number failed, like, more than 80%
yeh, think i'll stick with slumming it on my crappy razer pro 17 with its 17.3 inch 4k 120hz screen and its solid block of aluminium build thanks.
Ok, the HP sounds waaaaaaaaaaaay better then the xps does. Also, love the keyboard. It has the home, end, pgup, and pgdown keys without having to press the function key. But it still has the half height arrow keys for up and down, which I don't like.
This guy out here smacking the laptop like his toy, Alex my man 13:17
I love my hp envy awesome power to size. It runs Linux.... It's original ssd was copied to a gen 4 m2.0 2tb and became my desktop. Then installed a faster m2.0 in the hp. They really don't want you getting into their laptops.
Why does no review ever answer the question if the fan spins for light load especially with such a powerful device?
I was distracted by Alex's out of place hair that kept bouncing.
im working at hp we use this laptop as workstations all laptops we get are from top end models love the work culture here
I see a lot of reviewers leaning on the specified 3000 series part number. Haven't we seen reports (even from LTT) that the part number doesn't reliably predict performance? Isn't it down to implementation and cooling so actual performance rankings can be the opposite of what the class suggests?
You guys need to get the Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen4. Its basically superior to this thing in every way. Up to an i9, 3080, 64gb RAM, tons more IO, thinner, 16:10, and much cheaper.
I was recently given one of the previous gen for work, and there's one thing to consider about heat:
If you cover the bottom exhaust (ie. on your lap / on the bed), this thing will get insanely hot, really fast - it actually gets uncomfortable to use by touch.
Besides that this thing is a beast 😁
Hpw would it go with a cooling pad ? I game in bed due to illness and always use a. Cooler pad.I found my msi gs63vr was much less uncomfortablely hot when i used one.
Actual i have been buying my HP ZBook by myself because i just need laptop what is very good for work and also gaming. I work for myself and i travel a lot. I working about 40h, gaming about 20h and do other stuff like web browsing about 20h per week and i have been loving this laptop.
@@tcbobb1613 Sorry to heard about touchpad. Fans is ok for me because i use noice cancelling headphones when i playing.
Alex is easily the most intellectual and handsome engineer I’ve ever known
We need more budget laptops. I keep watching these videos and then realise they're $2.5k or more
As a Canadian I think it should be pronounced "Zed"
You need to compare this to the g14 for the LTT review, cuz that will show how good its cooling the 3070 if it can or can’t beat a better cooled 3060.
Alex: this is the laptop that you can expense to work
Me: so you mean I should not have been able to get work to buy me a Razer blade 14 as I did under the guise of using it for school work too?
I have the 2018 G5 version of this, it's amazing apart from the onboard USB ports & display port over type c sometimes acting up.
This is wayyyy better though, 4k OLED and 3070 compared to my 1080p & p1000
"Everything is better than Razer"
Niceeeeeeeeeeee.
I had a ZBook for work, the two year old model but it was a beast. Never struggled with anything, 3D modeling, CAD, etc. Only complaint was the weight, it's a beast.
and he said this one's lighter than even the XPS. I think this laptop will be perfect for me (if only i can afford it 😭)
0:01 crab rave doubled 😂
Thanks I missed it
Many people use their laptops with a mouse... with the right hand. What were they thinking about when they put the ports on the right?
$4400 for 18 fps? Yeah, great deal.
Pretty sure it was using integrated graphics rather than the 3070.
I prefer my speakers in the hinge. i must say that is one genious way they did it on my yoga c930, sounds good to.
I really feel like 4k is overkill on a 15-inch display, and that display increases the price of an already extremely expensive laptop by a couple hundred dollars.
You can see at 7:49 that indeed, there is a IPS display model and by only choosing it the price has a huge 400 bucks drop
I have a zbook for work, not sure what gen, maybe 3 years old. has a i7 vpro with a Quadro T1000. i love it, awesome laptop
In my ideal world the perfect laptop would be:
- sleek and minimal aluminum display
- small footprint and under 1.5kg in weight
- bezelless 14" 1920x1200 display with 120+ Hz refresh rate (OLED or good IPS)
- 3060 level or above GPU performance
- decent webcam
- windows hello facial recognition and/or fingerprint reader integrated into power button
- decent IO - 2x USB A, 2x thunderbolt or USB C with power delivery, 1xHDMI and/or displayport, RJ45, SD card reader, 3.5mm combo jack
- 15h+ battery life
- good backlit keyboard
- good and large trackpad
- upgradeable SSD/ram/wifi card
I don't care that much about CPU performance or speakers - all CPUs on the market meet my needs anyway and I much prefer using headphones over speakers. Maybe in a couple generations there will be something that meets my wishes.
Hi
Hu
Getting one of these from school, looking forward to it
Me using an i5 2nd gen laptop watching Alex nit picking
🥺
The background music is OP
i like the zbook lineup use it for everyday task, sometimes uses it for virtual box. Works great for 1st gen zbook.
I got mine today, love it… my company ordered 30 of them!! Mine has a 3060 though and less storage and memory but still very nice
i don't like type c charging port in laptop. normal one is quite easy to insert n durable too
I really want to see a laptop cooling pad video!!
Should I buy one and which one
I love how the HP looks the speakers sound good but I like the he gray and the dell looks a little smaller which is why I would get a laptop
When you said fan in the bathroom I started noticing the fan sound in our bethroom which is soooo loud and can hear jt though multiple doors
The Dell sounds muddy in comparison! The Book G8 absolutely (at least with YT compression) took the crab cake here!
Had a Zbook G6 but HP throttles the CPU's power limits to keep it cool and have a better battery life. I moved to a Precision 7560 which is not as good looking and a little heavier than the ZBook but performs much better for actual work.
$4400 Damn,that commercial keyboard doesn't come cheap
Thanks for the subtitles: not just for foreigners but for deaf people as well.
This is the laptop equivalent "sleeper" car. Business up front, party in the back.
It should have a default macro that instantly mutes sound, minimizes a game, switches to a different windows virtual desktop and fires up an excel workbook. They could have a dedicated key and call it the "boss" key.
3:43 With my chunky fingers, gonna be backspacing and hitting that power button by accident a whole lot though.
I work IT for a civil engineering firm and we get these for our project managers
about the gaming performance, maybe the laptop comes shipped with studio drivers for the GPU instead of the gaming drivers?
Honestly this laptop seems pretty impressive. Only thing I don’t like about it from a cosmetic stand point is the huge Z on the back of it but that’s nothing that Dbrand can’t fix. Wish that the price was lower.
Can you use both thunderbolt ports for charging?
