  • Nine-year-old Pranay Shrivastava is a high-functioning autistic child from Pune. He is often referred to as an Autistic Savant as the abilities he demonstrates are far in excess of what is considered normal. "985×3 is 2955, 985×4 is 3940, 985×5 is 4925," Pranay recites effortlessly. He takes hardly any time to identify the flags of 18 countries.

I got very emotional by just watching that child. I have a 5 1/2year old son.he was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 36 months old. He can read anything and everything. He doesnt communicate with us. He has shown about of improvement lately. He doesn't eat much. Only roti, rice and bread. He can't live without his milk bottle. He doesn't know how to use washroom. Still in diapers. He doesn't call us mummy, daddy. He says basic words like milk time, bath time, names of his favourite biscuits and diaper. I actually cry all the time thinking why him but then I say he is sent with a great cause. I will be there by his side forever. I love him very much. Btw my childs name is Faiz.

Its very difficult to change the thinking of our indian society. Lots of negativity in thoughts even in our senior citizens.for ex. Gender issue is still not gone from our society.
Every Child especially an autistic child should be given prefrence in every field.
Hats off to this family.. And i promise one day ur child will win hearts of many people.

Why are we constantly trying to force everyone to integrate into a society that lacks compassion? We need to wake up people!.... The universe is sending a beautiful message to our collective conscience. My positive thoughts go out to this family, keep on going and the right teacher will come along.

Instead of inclusion and fighting between normal and not normal...better is to create more resources and well equipped schools for autistic kids like regular schools in every Indian city...so that child as well as parent never feel cut off from society...inclusion brings more stress for kid as well as parent according to my experience...

I myself am autistic so I would like to say a few things. Autism is a spectrum meaning it can go from needing less support to needing a lot of support.
I'm on the lesser end of the spectrum so while I don't struggle too much with my words, social situations are overwhelming because of all the sounds, lights, people and smells around me and it's hard for me to listen and see and fell everything all at once. People on the higher end do have more trouble with social, motor and sensory processing.
More commonly on the higher end we have kids who are non-speaking/verbal meaning verbal communication is harder for them. This also means non autistic people find it hard to communicate their needs and wants so they become frustrated. On top of that, there's sensory stimulus which can be very draining.
For people not on the spectrum it can be very easy to ignore sounds like the fan or the fridge, smells, textures and lights. For us though, our brains have an inability/harder time doing so; It's hard to ignore the sensory stimulus and it genuinely feels painful. For people on the higher end, it seems to be even harder.
Autism is a neurological disorder which has no cure. You can have other devices for accessibility which do help kids on the higher end but no matter how many medications or homeopathic centers claim they can cure it, it won't go away.

Beacause of that kid other kids in class need to compromise which i dont like...every children wants to sit in first seat of vans....every child wants to play a game...but autistic child alwaya created problem in it...and even after all these when his wishes are not fulfilled he reacts badly or try to beat others...though its mild but still his mind wont function as normal kid...a teacher needs to focus on all kids preseny in class..but if one kid is autistic teacher all attention goes towarrds him because of symathy they have...so dont blame schools...but yeah india needs to have special school for these kids
