I spent so many years hemming and hawing over my purpose in life. It didn’t matter that I heard it over and over that I was on this earth to worship Allah. It honestly just didn’t sink in. I was very depressed behind this. I did a ton of regrettable things. Until now. I get it and I’m happy it sank in before I did anything more stupid than I’ve already done. Now, I’m in repair mode. The reason it didnt sink in is because of your hart, it was hardened. If you clean your hart by doing 3ibadah with a ganuin intention, it turns it softer again. However keep focusing on genuinity and dont overdo 3ibadah like reading the whole quran in 2 days, because that is substance to eventually letting go if it all together. And try seeking knowledge, it really helped me get ALOT better then I was before.

Actually it starts before then when. ALLAH ( swt) blesses a person to SEE and ACCEPT the truth and then that person comes to the realization of who his creator really is. Only then does the shahada makes sense and has meaning. Some ppl take their shahada for reasons other than the realization of the truth Of Islam and Prophet Muhammad ( pbuh). May ALLAH ( swt) gives us a better understanding.

Yes, Islam is indeed a WAY OF LIFE. What does it actually mean? It teaches you and touches in EVERY ASPECT of your life, from the moment we wake up, how we eat, how we sleep, even what to do when we go to the toilet., how we to act as a community, everything. There is no creed or race that is "superior" in Islam. Ever noticed that when pilgrims perform the umroh and the hajj? They are ALL in white. So there is no difference - you may be black, white, yellow, be rich or poor, of high standing in your life or a director of a major company .... they all look and act the same. That is indeed a miracle in itself.
