Hey man....Next year I am looking forward to purchase an e60 525i or an e46 sedan... when I turn 18 years old..but I really want the e60 525i or 523i...do you recommend it to me as a good first car?.. Are they a good car..is the maintenance expensive and do we get many problems..and what about the engine? I would really like your recommendation man.thanks
I have an E60 and used to own an E46. I would not recommend either as a first car, only because of the potentially very expensive repairs. However, if you must have one and you have enough savings for potential repairs, the E46 will be more nimble and slightly cheaper to fix, while the E60 will be smoother on the road and more expensive to repair. The E60 will have better material quality and break less often, in my personal experience. 525i or 523i would be relatively more reliable than the 535/550/M5. That being said, my E60 550i has been rock solid for many years (knock on wood), but when I bought it, I made sure that it had a good track record of maintenance and few-to-no repairs. If the previous owner has had it for more than 3-5 years and is a mature person (e.g. old), that could be a good candidate. If someone has owned it for less than 2 years, I would be suspicious. @@hasbune21 Bro the title literally says 525i. And the sound the car does when he's backing in doesn't sound like the M5. The M5 has a 5l V10 and this one as a 2,5l R6 motor. He just switched to M parts.
