Back in around 1990, a school friend and I decided we were going to make a Hip Hop album, with loads of synths. We didn’t have much gear of our own, but my friend had a neighbour who was getting on in years, a real old hippy/rock and roll chap with grey hair and a beard. We went to his house ‘cause he told us he had some old synths and rhythm boxes. We were encouraged to find all manner of old Roland machines, many of which were littered and loaded with old books and newspapers and other household detritus, but he said we could have a play with whatever we wanted if it worked. At the time, we were just young lads starting out, and were naively, secretly and shallowly hoping to find a load of cutting edge Akais and the like, but were rather crestfallen at the sight of all these old wood panelled old Rolands covered in dust. I’m sure this old dude hadn’t used any of it for years, and to say we came away with some very awful, meagre, amateurish recordings would be more than an understatement. I’ve thought about that day often over the years, and often wish I’d been more appreciative and interested in what pieces of gear he actually had, but at the time, we just wanted and wished for all the latest shiny shite that was being made. What a pair of young bells!
I like how the modular beep and boops build up under Brad's monologue with a bit of filter sweep to take the video out on. :)
This video is so pleasingly random, and I love that. It even has flea collars.

Big Rob knows exactly what he’s doing . .
You guys have some incredible synths there and not forgetting the flea collars.
This gave me envy and anxiety - all at once.
Sounds like r2d2 drunk off of darkside energy juice.
@ 0:22 "..into the cut off of da fill-uh" -- lol i love y'alls accent !! cheers!
Of course Trident was leaking, good luck its a great synth, I have to retrace mine after buying too
If you think all modular sound like that try R Beny's "Moss", "Spring in Blue" or "The Fossils of Intention".
Hainbach made a song in 10 minutes with that. What’s your excuse Rob?😂
This is like watching Syntaur but the warehouse version...I going to sub to see how wacky this gets, haha
It sounds like the pitch of the oscillator is drifting ever so subtly, and I like it. It's not going very out of tune either.
Cool, Make us some crazy samples!
Will the s2400 be in stock again?
Best of luck with repairs!!
😂 Awesome
Hmm, talking about sequencer...
Back in 80's around 84/85 mate of mine brought a 100m of his old school for £100. Guess it could of ended up in the skip!!!
Deep thoughts
Hahahahahaha
Flea Collars for the Win!
You can't keep everything 😒
What a waste….
What’s a waste, Clive?
