Luck played pretty much perfect football having only four incompletions and one interception in large from the receiver breaking down on his route, all this while being constantly pressured by 5+ pass rushers. It's a shame the kicking game and the lack of a pass defense led to Stanford's loss, they deserved this game all the way. As a Colts fan, I can't wait to see Irsay's official announcement that Luck will be the #1 pick of the 2012 draft.
Actually a lot of quarterbacks are praised for it because the reason luck and weeden do it is cause they don't have time to find the laces, but when they get the ball off well it just shows how experienced they are. as long as you can keep a tight spiral i guess it dont matter where you grab it.
I will say that Andrew Luck did pretty damn well seeing as his offensive line didn't do much blocking on must of the plays seen on this video. He was rushed and hurried most of the time and still managed to only have a few incompletions the whole game and a couple of them were drops.
Just because he has an unconventional throwing motion doesn't mean Brock can't throw the football. He was a very accurate passer when they needed him to be, but the offense he was in didn't fully utilize these talents and forced him to throw a lot of bubble screens and swing passes. I am looking forward to seeing what he does in the future, obviously he's no Andrew Luck but he still has the skill set to be a good NFL quarterback.
I'm talking within the terms of QB frames, not every position player frame. Griffin has an equivalent frame to that of Vick and McCoy, both are injured frequently. I'm not ragging on Griffin at all, I hope he has a great career. Luck is just the safer option physically and intellectually, and clearly the smarter pick. His degree of accuracy is incredible.
I'm sure he'll put on some good weight (muscle) during the offseason, not astoundingly much, but a decent amount. I like Griffin as an athletic QB, just not a cerebral pocket passer. He's got great deep ball accuracy, but doesn't always hit home runs when it comes to medium, 10-15 yard passes. When Griffin goes to Washington, he's going to have to learn to rely more on the pocket, that's all. If he can do that he'll be fine.
RG3 has amazing college video, and after watching Luck he is equally impressive. It must have been a tough decision for Indy. Lucks size, durability, and NFL readiness must have swung the vote. They both are deadly passers, with RG3 having a slightly better deep ball and quicker release. Luck with better timing routes and field vision.
I have a Couple of "?"'s about Griffin. 1 is can his body hold up. His lower half and mid section are very slight for an NFL QB.People sweep thuis under the rug but he already missed pretty much 1 whole season because of a torn ACL.The other does he posess NFL accuracy I know Luck does. His offense features NFL throws and Windows..Griffin on the other hand is from a very College Styled Offense.U have to project him while guys like Luck & Tannehill u can see it.
Though I'd be slightly disappointed because I am more of a fan of RG3, that would not be a bad, under the circumstances. Both are likely to have good careers. I just think one has a little more upside and playmaking ability than the other.
i was going for neither team. i was actually just rooting for both quarterbacks to perform well. each one did. i thought stanford dominated this game. luck played calm, cool, and collective but the curse of the kicker was the problem. it was suppose to be an easy field goal and instead, just like boise st kicker and alabamas kicker, stanfords kicker was horrible. it was suppose to be a clutch play by luck and instead was a loss. anyways his performance was wonderful and wont hurt him in the draf
Doesn't matter, Luck was clearly trying to get out of bounds. If you check the rulebook, that is a 15 yard penalty, but most refs don't call it. Burfict got a 15 yarder against oregon for a play that looked very similar to this one.
luck definitely definitely needs to be under a veteran quarterback. his mechanics are spotty and far from fluid some times, at the pro level thats not going to work. give him 3/4 years to develop i see him as a playoff guy.
I KNOW!!!! Good grief! He has tremendous accuracy. I prefer RGIII, but if Indy just HAPPENS to do the unthinkable and draft RGIII and my Redskins get Luck, I won't be very dissapointed.
"Of course" he can run faster? He ran a 4.59 40-time, faster than Cam Newton too. He's also got a much larger frame than RG3 does, and as a result is less injury prone. I'm not saying you've lost your mind, just that the Colts are not taking Griffin, and that's fact. He doesn't fit with Bruce Arians' offensive philosophy.
I hate to buy into the hype but this guy is NFL ready. He'll struggle at first because the team is awful and the game is different but barring a mental meltdown he should be really really good
@curselikfucknsailors you've got to be the only person on the planet that says his mechanics are spotty and not always fluid....do you watch football or just comment on videos with non-sense in an attempt to sound intellectual?
Really? Because I'm a Colts fan and I know for sure Andrew Luck is going to be my quarterback. You're delusional if you think they're drafting Griffin. He declined to even visit with them and the Colts have already met with Luck multiple times. They're not going to officially say they're drafting him for leveraging reasons and so as to not allow the Redskins any type of advantage in the draft. Go ask any educated sports fan who they think the Colts are drafting, more than 90% will say Luck.
I hate when NFL analysts make comparisons btwn Luck and Sam Darnold. Luck was the most perfect QB prospect anyone has ever seen. Darnold is a turnover machine who would've been a 5th round pick in that draft class.
Andrew Bokal Wrong. Luck was extremely overrated and Darnold is an absolute beast. He will be the next big thing in the NFL. Besides if luck was so good in college, how come he never won a Heisman or a national title ?
You could ask the same thing of Darnold. Though I consider this game to be the actual BCS Championship game considering that both these two teams likely would've beaten LSU and Alabama. It was also easily more fun to watch. Who wants to watch a field goal fest?
i think NFL linebackers are going to have a field day picking off Lucks little out route and slant route passes and dump offs to the RB will be stopped short. most of the passes he threw were short and similar. on the touchdown the defender fell down. other than the pass on the run and the 'scanning the field under pressure' to hit the open receiver (who was open for awhile) and hitting the close open target dead on i wasnt that impressed. college football isnt impressive to me anyhow
Hopefully Luck doesn't do it all the time .. because is a bad thing for a QB to not use laces to throw ... it's hard to do but it's also a bad thing ... I hope Weeden doesn't do that at the next level or he'll have a lot of picks.
Of course Andrew Luck is faster than Tim Tebow correct yes but the Colts could get Robert Griffin 3. Don't tell me if I have lost my mind when this happens April 26 in your face tell the Colts that blessings....
Rg3 us better had more passing yards that year. Luck only threw 2 tds yaw forget Stanford has a a+ running game! That's how he completes a lot of his passes off of play acti
Wrong Bra its going to be Robert Griffin 3. Listen Bra you do not know what's going on behind close doors in the Colts meeting room. They are working as a team to get this guy! Trying to fit him in their system, you guys will be shocked expecting Andrew Luck to come here you will get Robert Griffin 3 coming to Indy. Listen Bra they don't care if he decline them multiple times their idiot obsessed minds is still on this special kid. They really like this kid and will want to keep him there period
Your intellect of football is staggeringly mediocre. You really think an organization would draft a guy first overall whom they've never spoken to? And since when does Bruce Arians, or anyone for that matter, want a Michael Vick-type QB after he had Roethlisberger at Pittsburgh? Cerebral pocket passers are the ones who win Super Bowls, not runners who can throw. Luck's accuracy and decision-making is what separates him from Griffin. You can't teach either of those. And he's faster than Tebow.
fuck u /Edit: my little brother keeps using my account to make butthurt comments on madden and football videos and i dont even know why i still let him use my account to watch these videos. sorry to whoever he was cussing at
So many players on the field became very good in NFL
please, take a look at the 1988 Miami Fl, vs. Florida State game if you REALLY want to see future hall of famers play!
Love havingluck as a colt
Mike McFarland this comment has aged well..
Lol

That first incompletion in the end zone, would have drawn a flag from each ref nowadays
Did you see that pass at 3:50 ? He didn't even use the laces of the ball to throw it ! Amazing.
Came here after I heard he retired...
after watching brock osweiler vids .. i really needed to see someone who can actuallly throw the football ..thx JMPasq
Actually a lot of quarterbacks are praised for it because the reason luck and weeden do it is cause they don't have time to find the laces, but when they get the ball off well it just shows how experienced they are. as long as you can keep a tight spiral i guess it dont matter where you grab it.

He's a smart QB, cool under pressure with great athletic ability. He and RG3 are great prospects.
Damn 9 years later and lucks been out of the nfl for 2 years and rg3 has been a career backup mostly. Crazy how things change.
@@MultiBluedog123 if went to a better team there’s a good chance he might’ve still been playing
@@nosir1440 yeah and sucks cause right after he retires the colts are able to put together maybe the best offensive line in football.
@@MultiBluedog123 yes man you’re right haha. I hated to see his talent wasted but it is what it is with him sadly.
Love how Irsay listens to what the fans want, Colt fans are very lucky to have him!
Yeah and now its all gone
Ladies and Gentlements! Our new INDIANAPOLIS COLTS QUATERBACK!!
Shit o line in college, shit o line in the NFL
That throw to Whalen at about 6:50 was amazing ... I cannot believe I had the privilege of seeing Andrew Luck play for 3 seasons ... WOW!
Just because he has an unconventional throwing motion doesn't mean Brock can't throw the football. He was a very accurate passer when they needed him to be, but the offense he was in didn't fully utilize these talents and forced him to throw a lot of bubble screens and swing passes. "It's Jame Blicknik" haha
IUse2haveALife not black nicker lol wow right
It’s crazy how his O-line is garbage but he still arguably the best college qb draft prospect
6:14 God i repeated that like 5 times lol.
I'm sure he'll put on some good weight (muscle) during the offseason, not astoundingly much, but a decent amount. I like Griffin as an athletic QB, just not a cerebral pocket passer. That throw at 3:42 is why he'll be the #1 pick. Though the motion is a bit inconsistent.
RG3 has amazing college video, and after watching Luck he is equally impressive. It must have been a tough decision for Indy. Lucks size, durability, and NFL readiness must have swung the vote. Damn this was spot on

Justin Gilbert is very good. Underrated
God andrew luck is amazing i just watched the geno smith videos.... Ughhth this is amazing
i was going for neither team. i was actually just rooting for both quarterbacks to perform well. each one did. i thought stanford dominated this game. luck played calm, cool, and collective but the curse of the kicker was the problem. it was suppose to be an easy field goal and instead, just like boise st kicker and alabamas kicker, stanfords kicker was horrible. it was suppose to be a clutch play by luck and instead was a loss. anyways his performance was wonderful and wont hurt him in the draf
The unthinkable will surely happen so please do not be moved blessings.....
yes that is a fact. thank you for stating it.
OSU's defense looked like they were on speed at the beginning
Everybody praising luck.He was a pretty good qb.But they still lost GO POKES!!!!
because stanford's line was one of the best in the country and still is.
@ScarletSilver89 i know its probably hard to see peyton to go but this kid is just amazing.
Doesn't matter, Luck was clearly trying to get out of bounds. If you check the rulebook, that is a 15 yard penalty, but most refs don't call it. Burfict got a 15 yarder against oregon for a play that looked very similar to this one.

I'ma have to say more 3:40ish haha. That's a tough window.
How can ANYONE say RG3 is better? Luck put on a clinic against OKST. They should have won this game
"Of course" he can run faster? He ran a 4.59 40-time, faster than Cam Newton too. He's also got a much larger frame than RG3 does, and as a result is less injury prone. That throw at 3:17 sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it's sad that we all know that this was better than the national championship
This was a perfect performance by a quarterback (Luck). Weeden wasn't too bad himself
Oklahoma was just too good of a team
4:47 reminds me of a certain moment.
Im surprised no one noticed this comment haha your right though
I hate to buy into the hype but this guy is NFL ready. He'll struggle at first because the team is awful and the game is different but barring a mental meltdown he should be really really good

No captialization in the beginning of your sentence; but im a dumbass lol :D
yes i agree with that 100% lol but the fact that they still stayed with them the whole game and came out with a Rip off victory from A Luck.
yeah, because weeden totally plays every position on defense.
Weeden never uses laces unless it just happens..not to hate on the comment just saying.
The games over bruh
6:42 that was a late hit, trust me I'm an ASU fan I know what they look like
Really? Because I'm a Colts fan and I know for sure Andrew Luck is going to be my quarterback. You're delusional if you think they're drafting Griffin. Yes you are. That's what they were initially made for :/
Acctually you dont have to. even if you are not a pro. But nearly every qb does it cause its kinda easier :D
Didn't Stanford lose?
god pray for the colts
Yes because we all know stats tell the whole story.
Drew Brees does the same thing. Seems like he all does is dink and dip all the way down the field.
Wrong Irsay is picking RG3...
Of course Andrew Luck is faster than Tim Tebow correct yes but the Colts could get Robert Griffin 3. Don't tell me if I have lost my mind when this happens April 26 in your face tell the Colts that blessings....

bet you feel stupid now
incorrect. stanford just couldnt kick.
Osu 41 Stanford 38
If you didnt think this was impressive you know nothing about college football or NFL. Too bad the kicker became Kyle Brotzman
colts will be alright we destroyed the rams next up the steelers
how am i a dumbass?
tell your mom i said hi :)

well hindsight is 20/20
I agree with the stuff you said but that last sentence was too gay..
Terrible replay, maybe show all of the touchdowns??
i know its sickening
just like Manning, Luck had a shitty kicker
No.
I observe a sterotypical angry black man
and a shitty line
