      Lachri Fine Art ohhhh, I'm excited for that!
      Does the final product have the sanded paper texture showing through? I'm curious if there is texture... I'm not a fan of texture in my work which is why I use such smooth papers. I'm worried that if I buy all this stuff I won't like it because of the texture.

    Wow.... what.... how? What is that powder blender stuff? I have to research this, because that looks amazing. And looks relatively easy? Like it's turning the pencil into paint.

    It looks very much like chalk pastels when you used the blender for the background!

    I might try that texture fixative because I had the same issue with needing to apply more layers. I find that with using Krylon workable fixative, it takes forever to dry, the fumes are really noxious, and the chemically smell lingers on the paper for a while.

    Thank you for the great link to the images! I snatched that up right away!! When using the blender--do you HAVE to use sanded paper? Can it work on hot press watercolor paper? (what I like to use). Thank you so much for your informative and inspiring videos!

    This is more of a general blending question, but is there a particular way to stroke the brush when using paint thinner to help not appear so streaky and the color shifting to one end of the work? And how can I blend fine details with this?

    I'm having trouble finding the exact Powder Blender on Amazon.
    There's only Colorless Powder
    Is that ok?
    Also if you want to use the powder for the background and use mostly colorpencil for objects, is there other papers you can use?

    Fantastic thanks . I have used Canson Mi teinte sanded touch paper. I found when I used pan pastels on this paper the grains of sand ended up on my sponge . Am I doing something wrong. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Once again that was a great training video and the end result was stunning. What setting do you use to capture the stop-action video with? I’;m guessing that you use time-lapse pictures to create the work capture, but wanted to know for sure. Thanks again for sharing the drawing progress and also the tips about using the fixative in between layers. I didn’t get the name of that product, but would like to pick some of it up if I can locate it somewhere.

    I had seen a video using the powder blend, it was not very clear, I had no idea why it was used, thank you very much for giving us tips on the images, on that web side, and for leaving us a link on where to buy the powder blend and the materials you used. Now the question is, you said that you start painting with the oil pencils, that you add the blender powder, and after each layer, you spray the fixing spray. Does the blender powder have to be mixed with something else?

  • @WeddingxPeach97

    I have a question and this is more to do with paint thinner and workable fixative. If I were to say get my first couple layers of colored pencil and then blend it with paint thinner would spray that later down with workable fixative prevent color from lifting off page when I blend again?

    Has anyone noticed colored pencils fading using sandpaper and textured fixative like she is here? The next day or even hours later, colors are lighter and look grittier. Any ideas? I’m SO bewildered.

    So shes using a powder blender to blend your colored pencils? And she wasnt using chalk, becuase it kind of looked like she was and kinda didnt look like it at the same time. Also she mentioned sanded paper, is that a common practice after having gesso'd a surface???

When I try to find a textured fixative on Amazon not one comes up. Please , help, - need answer. It looks like it would solve a real big problem. Looking forward new tutorials or finding an old gem. Love the sand paper and blending powder technique. How do you transfer your detailed drawing onto the mounted sand paper? I have tried the graphite paper but it is not dark enough. I am afraid that if I press really hard I will create a groove.

  • @littlefeather9709
    @littlefeather9709 7 років тому

    Great art work. I am in awe at your talent. I'm an aspiring artist and do have a few problems with types of media but this is the strangest thing. I am having trouble with my colored pencils, I have the polychromos, Prismacolor and Derwent, and the color all but "disappears " after I lay it down. It's like the paper is sucking it in or its being evaporated. I have all of Joanna Basfords books and the paper is great. I've been coloring for over a year and this has been happening for a few months. I have to go over to do it again then blend and burnish. I'm really stumped. If you or anyone knows what the heck is going on in would really appreciate a reason . Thanks

    Touch of texture
    Textured fixactive
    Contained hazard warnings and they're flamable. USPS just restricts all of these.

    Very nice video. I like your Videos but sometimes it's hard to understand. But that's not your fault. It's because I am from Germany, I can speak and understand the typical school English which we learn all here in Germany at school. But you have a new accent which is not easy listening. 😉 I have just also startet to do Speedpaint Videos on UA-cam an will soon upload my first one. I do this, because there are barely artists on UA-cam who speak German, so aot of German people who don't speak English good enough don't have the possibility to learn such nice thing. So I decided to make a few videos for German artists. But that's not the reason for commenting. I just want to say that I habe learned so much from your videos here and patreon an without your Videos and other artists here on UA-cam similar to you I won't be as gods as I am now in drawing. Keep going on! 👍

    evert me I see your videos I just learn so much. I am trying to teach myself to draw nothing fancy just for my art journal. I am having trouble with colors. do you recommend I learn first with graphite so I don't have to worry about color for a very very beginner?

    • @sushishark2100
      @sushishark2100 7 років тому +1

      Laura Mcclure here's the deal, it's more important to learn how to use values and contrast than color. So yes, graphite is good. It might also be nice to find an informal mentor. Also, keep watching Lisa's vids.

    • @lauramcclure4483
      @lauramcclure4483 7 років тому

      Thank you elijah. I have never been good with seeing colors and there differances. I would just like to learn how to draw faces. For my art journal. Just for me. I am a big crafter and I have always love to draw. Now that my kids are gone I got plenty of time.

      Laura Mcclure Color REALLY doesn't matter. Just paint! I'm actually a teenager, but I started painting when I was ten, and I wasn't as critical of myself as I am now. My advice is to stop being afraid to fail, and just do it! Good luck with your art, and I hope you accel!
