Wow, such a great sermon!!! I went to Life Church for the first time today in my city and hearing this sermon was exactly what I needed to hear! I've experienced betrayal by the people closes to me and I have to say that it hurts! But praying daily and seeking therapy is helping me to heal.
This is exactly what I needed. I have a lot of bitterness with a lot of my old coworkers and my family. I pray to God that He can change my heart to be a better person going forward. I no longer want to have bitterness with anybody anymore. I want to be a blessing to everybody I come across.
God, we lift up @greatness3554, and we pray that they will experience Your presence in a new way today. Help set their heart upon You and Your Word! I have spent far too much time in bitterness and resentment. Things have left my heart that I spoke out of my mouth Father. Forgive me. I rebuke and renounce any curses or bitter words Father and ask that you pour out blessings, Grace, and Mercy to anyone I have spoke ill of. Father thank you for your everlasting love and mercy. Please forgive me. 😢
When we are hurt as children, bitterness sets in because we don’t know what to with our alcoholic Parents. We don’t get help until we are in our 40’s because we couldn’t afford professional help before that. Some people can not afford mental healthcare ever. Those bitterness roots can’t always be fixed.
This is definitely a struggle for me. Forgiving others is hard and especially making peace when you want to just to hold your bitterness. But I want to have the grace of God and stop bitterness from poisoning me and others. I’m gonna try to make peace today with someone I am angry with and have been hurt by. It’s hard, but I know that is what God is calling me to do.
Dear God we pray for Keza Charles. We pray for forgiveness in our lives, and we pray for the grace to extend the same forgiveness that we have received. We thank you for the work that you are doing in renewing our hearts. We pray that you help us to surrender and let go of the negative feelings and the bitterness we may have been holding onto. We pray that you save us and renew us with love and peace and joy. We pray for courage and help as we take the next step in forgiving, even and most especially when it’s hard. In Jesus’ name, Amen. -Mika

That visual of the tree! I have so many roots and it's true, you think it's simple anger but it just takes hold and you think it doesn't hold much space in your life until you turn around and there's this giant oak tree that acts as a barrier in your mind and it will drop acorns on the people in your life your friends, your family your children >
Yes, If we seek pure love of Christ, we can be filled with His love so that our cup runneth over. Then we are able to give something special to our fellow men. Our hearts are meant to carry this love. At times, in different situations, we are going through in our lives, we really need His special healing love to experience peace, and love for also to other people. He really is the best sorce of happiness in our hearts and lives. He is the sorce of pure love. With Him we are able to win the "wars" that raise in our hearts, and minds. God bless You all. I love U. He Is our refuge in times of sadness and greef.
I needed this, im right now a train wreck, but I am trusting God to turn my life around, im living in bitterness , rejection and self loathing, I need healing in every area of my life.

@20:23 This is SO helpful and practical. I had recognized a root of bitterness but had no idea what to do about. I thought I was doing sth wrong because I couldn't forgive this offense although apologies were exchanged. But instead of breaking my head over this I will choose to forgive and bless every time a memory pops up until "THE WOUND BECOMES A FACT AND NO LONGER AN EMOTION".
@@melaniemartin4319 Honestly, over the past two months I've come really far with overcoming bitterness- to the point where the memory DOES NOT STING like it used to. I was able to reconcile with this person in conversation and although we're not active friends, when I think of him I can only pray for what he's going through with a sincere heart of love. This is totally a doing of God! But I had to allow Him to heal me.
Honestly, my biggest bitterness is towards my past. Even now, I cannot get passed it for it’s part of me. I was diagnosed with Autism, but all my life I believe it was a false diagnosis. How people saw me, how they spoke to me, if wasn’t exactly with the level of respect that I wanted, I resented them with burning bitterness and indifference. If you pitied me or felt bad for me in any way, I damned you. I hated feeling pitiful, but because of all this rage over small things I then started getting angry over smallest inconveniences. In a world that is reliant on head strong men who can lead a family, this part of me made me fearful. Fearful of who would catch me on a bad day and experience the full childish tantrum of my wrath. It is truly a pathetic truth, but true nonetheless. Siblings in Christ, I’ve never done this before, but would you be willing to pray that I overcome my pride and stubbornness. It is the root of all my evil and plagues me to no end. I’m scared for my future family and friends, I don’t want others to be miserable.
We’re praying for you as you navigate these feelings of anger. If you’re looking for encouragement or wisdom from people who’ve had similar experiences, you can find those here: finds.life.church/?s=anger&is_v=1 -Kat

I've never been a bitter person ever, I've always been looking towards Jesus Christ and heaven in the grand scheme of things and I realize that this world we live in is just a temporary thing. I don't expect things to go well or be great in this world because it's obviously a fallen place and has been every since the garden of Eden.....all these problems here is a given, gotta look towards the big picture which is heaven and keep your head out of the world.....

I’ve been Dealing with Bitterness for over a year now and it stems from my Homelife growing up and church hurt. We’re in a new place now and thriving but I still struggle with the memories. I now see that I need to cancel the debt every single day if that’s what it takes.
When we fully seek the word of God in all of it's fullness the Lord shows up and heals! The Lord can also use other people to heal you. When we worship the Lord heals! There are many ways to get through bitterness, even walking through forgiveness depending upon the situation. Inner healing from Jesus is necessary I would seek it if it's something you just can't get past. The Lord is faithful, give it to Him, he will take it. God Bless you! When my dad died, my sister-in-law said horrible things. I have cried, asked God to help me forgive her, but now with the holidays coming, I am dreading seeing her. I struggle with this with my in laws. They’ve crossed multiple boundaries several times that my husband and myself have for our child. And they don’t respect us and are very invasive and intrusive. It’s really bad and we live with each other so my question is how do you handle in laws constantly crossing boundaries that we have with our child and at what point do you distance yourself from that? This is really hard for me. I love them but can’t allow them to continue disrespecting our boundaries
Lord, I lift up @sierrachamb. You know them and see what they are going through. God, I ask that you would be with them. Cover them in your grace and love. I pray that you would give them strength and courage. Lord, let those around them speak truth and light into their life. Continue to be with them during this time. In Your name, amen.
If they have not repented from what they are doing, they are not saved. No matter what they speak from their mouths. They must repent and turn from that.

I was, my youngest son's biological father about abandoned him and and myself. Pete is his name. My son looks just like him. My son is so strong. He figured out what he was. Trevor's paternal grandfather never met him but he and his grandfather called him and myself. He provided for Trevor what I couldn't! This month Pete's girlfriend passed away a year ago yesterday. She had ovarian/uterine cancer. I feel so bad but didn't have the words. Trevor's grandpa passed away, his Uncle Greg who wanted to get to know him. Trevor's Grandma Accolla passed. He has respiratory failure. He also has an Aunt Debbie who really wanted a relationship with Trevor. I found out she is on Meth. So I couldn't let her have a relationship with him. Most of his dad's side were on drugs. 2 of his cousins are in prison. I know he is not a Christian nor was his girlfriend. This is just unbelievable. I was trying to show him, but he was getting too mean. I pray for him that he doesn't have lung cancer.
Hi Debbie, Thank you for sharing your heart with us. It is that moment to moment dependence on Him to sustain us. Praying for God to show Himself to Trevor. We also pray for you to find the strength to guide him through this and that the Holy Spirit gives you the words to speak over him that leads to God. Laura - Team LC
I don't believe there's any difference, especially when you stop to ponder that God has given us unasked for grace. Before we ever knew we needed him he came to our rescue on the cross.

The painful suffering a person experiences due to prolonged abuse is not “the works of darkness” Paul is referring to. Don’t trick your audience into thinking that their suffering is evil.
As a man who has never had a woman see me romantically all through my late teens and 20s, it has made me completely bitter because it's nothing more than a sad reminder that I've never been able to succeed in having a successful relationship with a woman - Being single and in your 30s in the church is just depressing, part of the reason I've been watching online sermons at home for years now. The church has also failed to help people meet their future spouse so is it any wonder that more Christians have resorted to online dating apps :/ and then we can't forget men can't even safely ask a woman out anymore all thanks to the feminism / metoo movements
God’s here for you, and so are we. If you’re interested in wisdom or encouragement on how you can grow closer to God and find meaningful relationships while single, this is a great place to start: finds.life.church/tag/single/
He is in California is the worst place for his health with all the smog. I just don't know what to do? He also got evicted from his apartment. So he lives in a Winnapago? He only worked when I got him a job. He never paid child support, his dad did until he passed away. I don't know what to do? I will continue to pray for him. Iam not bitter, but, When Trevor was born I was . I talked to my Pastor then. He helped me feel better. But never knew of any father who didn't want to know his son? He was abusive to me. I told him to get out. I found out later that he was doing many drugs . I don't know what else to do for him?
Debbie: I can see your concern. This seems like a very trying time for you. It is especially important that you keep your faith in God strong. God will find a way if we ask him and trust in him. Luke 1:37 For with God nothing will be impossible. Prayer works miracles and even though we might not see results right away, God hears all prayers and will never turn his back on us. When we pray and read the scriptures, God speaks to us. He comes in many ways. Some we may not even expect. I would love to say a prayer for you. Dear Lord, Please come to Debbie's aid. She needs your help. Debbie has a situation that seems insurmountable. But we all know NOTHING is too big for you God. YOU are the God of miracles. Please send Angels of Mercy, Healing and Understanding to her, her son and the father of her son. Please heal their family and help them on the path to righteousness. Guiding their footsteps. I ask this in the name of THE ONE WHO CALMS THE RAGING SEAS- Our Savior Jesus Christ. AMEN ❤️Lisa

Hi Juju! God Bless you! I'm sorry if you went through something, the Lord loves you and wants to heal it. We have to remember, the Lord loves all His children. We have to remember it's a spiritual battle. Living in hatred/unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting them to die. Jesus wants you to live in abundance of peace and love. So what do we do when we're burnt out and can't go on a lovely vacation up to mountains. So out of touch. Can most people honestly just do that on the drop of a hat?
No, it's true. Not all of us can afford the time or finances to go on a vacation, but what can you do? Praying God shows all of us how to apply this teaching to our lives. -- Jenni
I'm bitter toward my husband. He lays in bed all day and watches animae and at night he smokes cigarettes and medical marijuana outside. I take care of the bills, shopping, taking kids to school, errands, I buy everything. He does nothing. When he's mad at me he doesn't talk to me. He's a hothead. I'm bitter. I wish he'd leave but he has it too good. I'm extremely bitter. Please pray for me and my situation. God hates divorce but he is not taking care of his family, I do..

But your parent does owe you something, they owe you love and support..my mother doesn’t support or show love to me in any part of my life, being so sick calling and asking for her to come help me watch my daughter while I have life saving surgery, she wouldn’t yet was on her way to visit my sister who she has always been there for. I don’t drink , drug and have never left my daughter for even a day, yet she wouldn’t come help me. She took my 2 sisters side during there divorce yet when I went thru mine and called for her to come be with me she responded with , what good would that do? She loved my husband more than me, she hated my sisters husband’s so she was happy to see them divorce. I do hold it against her, how and why should I forgive her and act as if it never happened? I haven’t spoken to her in 5 yrs and I won’t ever unless she apologizes to me for the tremendous hurt she has caused me my whole life. If I forgive her she then hasn’t acknowledged my pain and that isn’t acceptable. I feel it’s bc I’m poor and my sisters are wealthy, I don’t have anything to offer her like they do, she is a materialistic person and I feel this has everything to do with it. I would never turn my back on my child, I would be the first person there for her. How could a parent who is suppose to love all her children equally able to do turn a blind eye?
Hi! I am sorry your going through that with your Mom, I am praying for you mightily! But holding onto it is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick. Unforgiveness is a heavy tool the enemy uses to keep us bound in bitterness/anger and many other things. Forgiveness is for you and not for them. You have every right to be upset. Sometimes it's a spiritual battle that can only be defeated in the spirit through prayer. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5: "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Remember you have a Father in Jesus who loves you TREMENDOUSLY, He will never lie to you, turn you away, or hurt you! He loves you to much! Give it to Him, we are to cast our burdens on Him. He wants you to give it to Him! Psalm 27:10: For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. He will never forsake you, He loves you to much, you are His daughter. Praying for you, God Bless you! Myriam - LC Social Media Team

That visual of the tree! I have so many roots and it's true, you think it's simple anger but it just takes hold and you think it doesn't hold much space in your life until you turn around and there's this giant oak tree that acts as a barrier in your mind and it will drop acorns on the people in your life your friends, your family your children >
Where ever there is a rotten root, there is rotten fruit.

Yes, If we seek pure love of Christ, we can be filled with His love so that our cup runneth over. Then we are able to give something special to our fellow men.
Our hearts are meant to carry this love. At times, in different situations, we are going through in our lives, we really need His special healing love to experience
peace, and love for also to other people. He really is the best sorce of happiness in our hearts and lives. He is the sorce of pure love.
With Him we are able to
win the "wars" that raise
in our hearts, and minds.
God bless You all. I love U.
He Is our refuge in times
of sadness and greef.

Thank you for speaking this message. Wow! Eyes opened.
I have been bitter for years. Lord help me release this to God

Sad thing is...we can't stand bitterness!!🤯🤯🤯
Woo, praising God that this came a the right time!
Jas - Team LC
@@melaniemartin4319 Honestly, over the past two months I've come really far with overcoming bitterness- to the point where the memory DOES NOT STING like it used to.
I was able to reconcile with this person in conversation and although we're not active friends, when I think of him I can only pray for what he's going through with a sincere heart of love.
This is totally a doing of God! But I had to allow Him to heal me.
So powerful! It has been a blessing to use this series for our Life Group at Bethel Chandler in Arizona.

"You don't have to have the courage to muster up forgiveness, you can't create it, You're simply passing along what has already been given to you"
I love the way you say this because it's so true. ~ Bre LC
If you’re looking for encouragement or wisdom from people who’ve had similar experiences, you can find those here: finds.life.church/?s=anger&is_v=1

Following the Word, it appears that we can't get over the bitterness! Now what?🤯🤯🍩🍩💔💔
When we fully seek the word of God in all of it's fullness the Lord shows up and heals!

You can’t cancel the debt of a habitual abuser.
This is called enabling.
The reality that “I am forgiven” is based in the fact that “I have repented”.

Hi Debbie,
Thank you for sharing your heart with us. It is that moment to moment dependence on Him to sustain us. Praying for God to show Himself to Trevor. We also pray for you to find the strength to guide him through this and that the Holy Spirit gives you the words to speak over him that leads to God.

Is there no difference in asking for, and then receiving grace, than giving grace to those who don't ask, don't care? Shouldn't there be a difference?

Debbie:
I can see your concern.
Dear Lord,
Please come to Debbie's aid. AMEN

And what if we know a rapist or a child molestor. I always find my way back to this and I can't take away my hatred from them. They're living there life care free and I'm giving myself bitterness. It's tough
That's who He is. Start seeking the Lord and ask Him to take this bitterness from you or even speak to someone about it, He is faithful He will take it. God loves you tremendously! God Bless you! Praying for you!

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
Remember you have a Father in Jesus who loves you TREMENDOUSLY, He will never lie to you, turn you away, or hurt you!
